I spent $9 at yard sells this morning:
$2.75 for the bench – my mom owns a paint store so imagine the bench once its painted. Should I put it on the front porch or near the vegetable garden in the back yard?
$2 for the big white board - I’m doing neighborhood pre-school this year and that will definitely get its use! Plus it will be fun for pictionary.
$1 for the BYU seat - These are $5 TO RENT at the games! This was the only item my husband was excited about when I got home – we go to every home game of BYU’s so he was stoked.

I went to shopping to Rite Aid this week and remembered why its my favorite store for non-grocery deals!

UPDATE: Lindsey guessed with $5 – I spent $68 – so I have emailed her for mailing info!
Winco is better then the best. I was scared to go because it is a 20 minute drive from my house, and I couldn’t justify the savings due to using extra gas to get there. I finally broke down and took the trip there today, mostly because I needed produce and I’ve heard its the ‘go-to’ for lowest produce prices. As you saw in the Winco Deals this week & next week, they were also offering 4 products completely free. So they lured me in.
I already want to go back. Their prices were drop-dead low and their variety was fantastic. I got 8 lbs of Strawberries for only $5.96. I’ll be making my super-simple, yet foul proof Strawberry Freezer Jam tonight! I usually add in Huckleberries but they aren’t in season yet. I go to the mountains in Idaho and pick them myself, since they are too expensive to buy anywhere.
I normally do Guess What I Spent & Saved, but since my kids were climbing out of the shopping cart and I was in a hurry, I didn’t use many coupons. Their food is about 50% off regular prices, so I did save a lot, but it’s impossible to guess how much I saved.
So it’s just Guess What I Spent day:
Leave a comment: Guess within $5 how much I spent and get $30 in clipped coupons!
If no-one guesses by Sunday night, I’ll just tell you.
Hint: their meat wasn’t that cheap – I spent $15.50 on fresh steaks and fresh cut ham alone! This was the only area of the store I didn’t see prices lower then regular grocery store prices.
Also, the diapers and Coppertone were from Rite Aid. I always buy diapers from Rite Aid. Stack a $5/25 coupon with a few $3/1 manufacturer’s and $1/1 video values coupons, and you can’t get much lower. There’s a $3/1 Coppertone coupon on Rite Aid Video Values right now, plus I had a $2/1 coupon.com I’d printed awhile back (it’s only $1/1 now), plus it’s on sale (I think $8.99) so it was a great deal. It ends tonight, but if you do it, look for the Baby Coppertone spray bottles, it has 50 SPF and is a “bonus” package with 50% bigger bottle.

UPDATE: Since no-one guessed within $1, but people were close, I decided next week to go back to guessing within $5, what do you think?
Here’s my receipt:

I enjoyed the Smith’s Double Coupon Event, even though I wasn’t able to get the Wacky Mac. So here’s my loot. Some things I didn’t get the greatest deals on, such as grapes and string cheese, but I’m not going to hide things I don’t buy on sale – some things you just want.
Guess within $1 what I spent OOP and win $30 in random coupons – including 4 $4 off Glade Sense and Spray coupons (these are $4-$5 at most Walmarts, so free -$1 with coupon!)
Guess within $1 what I saved after sales, coupons, & catalinas that printed out and win $30 in random coupons.
If no-one guesses by the end of today, May 22nd, I will close the giveaway and announce what I spent & saved.
UPDATE: Giveaway has ended. Kimberly McLean Flack guessed within $5 of “Saved”. I saved $63.12 + I got $10 back in catalinas. No-one guessed spent – I spent $45.88 OOP – I didn’t have any previous catalinas to roll into this deal
Thanks for playing – see ya’ next Saturday for another round!
I haven’t done a Guess What I Spent & Saved for a few weeks! This week I still haven’t made it to Walgreen’s to get my free razors, I’m guessing they are gone already. But I still want to go! I don’t need them; maybe I’m just a slight couponing addict? If its free, its calling to me…
Anyways, you know how this works:
- First person to guess within $5 how much I spent OOP get $30 in clipped coupons.
- First person to guess within $5 how much I saved (including catalinas) gets $30 in clipped coupons.
First of all, my 100% free shirt from The Company Store arrived in the mail!
Second, my mom mailed me a $10/10 JcPenny coupon, and I got the cute skirts and t-shirt at the bottom of the picture for $2.12! My daughter’s 3rd birthday is tomorrow, what a cheap gift! If you have that coupon, stop by the little kids department, tons of shirts and shorts are only $3.99 each.
Third, I went to Staples and got (2) 20-packs of FREE batteries, and 2 reams of paper for $1 each. You can sign up for the rewards card in-store. See how the deal works here, but in short I paid $35.18 OOP, and I am getting $31.18 back in rebates. If you live in a state without Sales Tax, this is an even better deal for you – I paid $2.12 in sales tax+ $1 for each 500 sheet ream of paper. My husband hates high rebates because he worries about getting the money back, I have heard great things about Staples program though so I’m trying it out for the first time.
Fourth, I went to Walmart and did the following deals, and not one single coupon beeped! It’s a miracle at Walmart when that happens!

Guess within $5 what she spent after factoring in OYNO coupons for a coupon for Free Sun Chips and $30 in other clipped coupons

I spent 47.95 this week on groceries and this is what went to food storage! Never before did I think it was possible to add to my food storage while lowering my budget. Coupons have changed me…changed me deeply
Go here for a recipe using the beans, and here for one using peanut butter. Anyone know a recipe using both? lol
