When we posted about our giveaway event, we asked you to start thinking about total value of the coupons. We have added up the value of all the FREE product coupons we have to giveaway and the first 5 people to guess the amount are going to win an envelope with $30 worth of coupons! If no one guess the exact amount, we will pick the 5 that guessed closest to the amount.

We will announce the winners at 9:30 am EST before we kick off the giveaway event! We will be verifying that the winners did not fill out this form more than once. All duplicate entries will be scrubbed.

The same form is being posted on all 5 participating blogs (all entries are gathered onto one document), so you only need to enter this giveaway once.

The giveaway will run through August 10, 2011 at 09:29 am EST. The winners will be selected randomly and will be posted after the close of the contest. Call-In Freebies List from My Savings!

People often ask how I find so many freebies. One way is by visiting My Savings Freebies page.  For example, I just saw on My Savings that today Tide is doing another giveawayat 3pm Eastern Time for their Tide Stain Release. Like Tide on Facebook and click the ‘Challenge’ tab. There will be 10,000 samples.   I got this last time and the packet came with a bunch of stain releases! That’s a great deal.  They also have printable coupons.

But what is different about the My Savings site?  They have a call-in freebie section! So if you are out of printer ink, you can’t print more freebie coupons, you can checkout this section for companies who offer freebies/coupons if you call them!  This is something new to me and I can’t believe I didn’t know there was a list of places you could call companies to request your freebies and coupons as well.  There are a lot of magazines on that list too.

Here’s some coupon savings calculators and spreadsheets to help you calculate your spendings and savings.  Some things to keep in mind:

  • How much did your coupons cost? I go on a per-month basis.  I spend about $17 a month getting 4 copies of the Sunday newspaper each week.   So when I calculate my savings at the end of the month I subtract $17 from my amount saved.
  • How much extra gas did you use? Often driving to multiple stores to get deals uses more gas then a regular shopper.  This should also be calculated.
  • How much ink and paper did you use? I normally get paper free after rebates at Office Max and Staples, so my only cost is ink.
  • Do you insure your stockpile? Some people have insurance on their stockpiles, well you need to subtract that from your savings.  (I do not personally but some people on Extreme couponing said they do…)
  • Lost time: you can’t put a dollar amount on this.  Sometimes deals take too long to do for the amount you are saving.  Never let couponing take over your personal, family, and spiritual life.

With all that in mind, are 100% savings possible?? YES!  Some deals you end up making money on, which cover your gas money to get to the store. Also, with online deals 100% savings are easy to calculate and I post as many of those as I can find!  But there’s tons of amazing deals in-store too.
