We tried out Fiber One, Yoplait’s new yogurt and my daughter (pictured above) and my husband both really loved it.  I could taste the aftertaste of artificial sugar, so it wasn’t my favorite.  It’s a healthy snack for my daughter though, with 5 grams of fiber!

I also got a $50 Safeway gift card. There are some CuCKoO deals  there this week on vegetables (and we all know it’s hard to get good deals on those):

This Children’s DVD uses puppets to explain: the overall concept of the Bible, from who wrote it, why, how it all came together in one piece. Then it uses cartoons to explain: the individual stories in the bible.

I liked the cartoon parts of the DVD better then the puppets part. I think What’s In The Bible is more for children at least 5 years old. It moves too quickly and is too packed with information for any younger child.

There were 2 specific statements made that I disagreed with; you can email me if you want to know specifics.  I did think it did a good job of explaining about the creation when Moses wrote “Day” it could have meant God’s day, which could be thousands or millions of years in Earth days.  It also explained selfishness very well.

This is the secret to getting kids to love brushing their teeth! My nearly-3 year old daughter never liked to brush, but I would say “You get a Tooth Fairy treat if you brush!” and she’d start brushing away.

Chewable tablets?

According to Dr. Jeffrey Hillman, D.M.D., Ph.D. “The probiotics in EvoraKids™ effectively compete with certain harmful bacteria for both nutrients and space on tooth surfaces.  Daily application of the special blend of probiotics in EvoraKids will help support healthy teeth in children.” Read more about them or order some here on EvoraKids.com

UPDATE: This giveaway ended, entry #37 won.

I reviewed a copy of Danny the Dragon, written by Tina Turbin and Illustrated by Aija Jasuna, and an accompanying CD which reads the book out loud then plays 10 original composition classical songs.

Me and my daughter follow the cd along with the book before bedtime. My daughter likes to listen to the CD and turn the pages at the chime. Then when its over I tuck her in and turn the volume on low and she goes to sleep with the music going.  She thinks its really special.

The book is about a regular family who comes across Danny the Dragon and his sidekick Skipper.  I won’t spoil the surprise on how Danny meets Jimmy and his family,  but your children will love “where he sleeps” and learn from Danny as Danny is an easy-going, gracious dragon with great manners.  The illustrations are very colorful and my daughter loved them.

Update: Entry #2 won.

I have the most obnoxious, tangly, frizzy, curly hair and have never fell “in love” with any shampoo or conditioner.

I think I may really like like Wen!  I used it on my hair for a month. It worked great on my hair, noticiably making it softer.  It also seemed to straighten it a little, which seems weird.  I straightened my hair after using Wen and it only took 45 minutes; it usually takes me over an hour.  Yes, that is using my ceramic straightner and curling iron.

So what’s the big deal with Wen? Well, it’s a conditioner that you use with no shampoo before or after. Really.   From their site “Wen cleanses as it conditions, with no detergents or harsh chemicals. It’s all-natural…makes color lasts longer” and the results (at least on my hair) were much softer hair.

After telling my friends and husband about Baby’s First Phone Call, they all said (in their own way) “and why didn’t I know about this when I was in the hospital calling 20 people and telling the same story over and over again!”

How does Baby’s First Phone Call work?

  1. Before the baby is born, you enter the names and phone numbers of all the people you want to notify when the baby arrives.
  2. After the baby is born, you make a single phone call and leave a personal voice-mail message of any length with all the details you want to share; I would suggest information such as baby’s health, the hospital and room number you’re in, and whether and when you’d like to receive visitors.
  3. They get to hear the happy news straight from you and if they don’t answer it leaves them a message.

There will be 4 winners, each receiving a $50 Gift Certificate for Baby’s First Phone Call. These are transferable; meaning you will be able to give these as gifts at baby showers!  They also don’t expire so you can hold on to them until you or someone you know is having a baby.  SWEET: they are for unlimited amounts of people that you want on your calling list.

This giveaway has ended. A third party site, Random.org, has selected the winner.

The winner is: Entry #9, Bonnie P, who said “I have never tried it before”

I can’t stress enough that this is a different kind of lotion. It feels different when you put it on, silky is the best word I can think for it. It isn’t thick and sticky like some other lotions, and it dries very quickly when you put it on.

I like how it is for the whole body, including the face, and how it is safe for children because it is hypo-allergenic. This way it is in all-in-one purchase. I used it on my face and it didn’t cause any breakouts. I am very careful with what I put on my face. Many of you may have noticed I don’t wear any foundation or powder on my face because I feel like they make my face breakout. I was glad the lotion didn’t cause me any problems on my face!

It is great for moderately dry skin; I don’t know about severely dry hands though because Andrea (my friend with severely dry hands) felt like she needed the lotion re-applied to the severely dry areas quite often.

SkinMD is offering one lucky Cuckoo For Coupon Deals reader a free bottle of lotion (retail value $18). For the entire month of February our readers can also use coupon promo code “cfc4805″ for 20% off online purchases here.

If you are looking in-stores, this product is sold at Health Essentials Nutrition in Spanish Fork, at various Walgreen’s and Kmart locations, and at many other pharmacies nationwide.

My husband Chris is “The Sauce Man”. He pours A-1 on everything until it drips. He was more excited than me when he heard that Country Bob’s wanted my family to review & host a giveaway of their Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce . They sent us a package that included recipes, and we decided to try out the Grilled Pork Tenderloin recipe, and we are so glad we did!

Here’s the Grilled Pork Tenderloin recipe: (used with permission from Country Bob’s)
2 large pork tenderloins
1 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup sesame oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 T. ground ginger
1 (13 ounce) bottle Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce

Mix everything together except the tenderloins, then pour over the tenderloins. Marinate 4 hours. Drain the sauce and save for when you’re grilling. Grill on low for 2 1/2 hours, brushing with marinade every 15 min. Serve with remaining sauce.
