  4. Pre-sorting categories as you slice coupons
  5. Showing my coupon binder & categories I use (view them HERE)

I have gotten so many emails asking about my Slice Coupon Cutter – you can scoop up a slice safety cutter here on Amazon.com for just $6 plus free super saver shipping!

This is a great video. Thanks for all your work in making this video. I can’t wait for the next giveaway. That is a awesome idea!

    • Sandra S

That is almost how I do it to a T! I use a paper cutter that goes from the top of the paper to the bottom so I have to be careful of what’s on the back side. I do stack all of my coupons up as I cut them and then sort them into the categories all at the same time. I also have a sheet protector for each store that I slip the add into and any coupons that I plan on using at that store, also that stores coupons go in there. Happy couponing!

  • amy

As someone only 2 months into couponing, I LOVEd watching all your TRIED AND TRUE tips! THANKS! I’ve just been using a recipe file box, but it’s officially got crammed full this week, time to upgrade. I was loving my alphabetical order system, but might have to try the aisles of the store method, that makes so much sense. I’ll either have to pay more attention to the aisles of the stores or wait for your list of categories…yeah that will probably be better! THANKS!

  • Andrea

    Love the video!! So informational.

  • kat

Thanks for the video and the work you put into this site.

  • michelle wright

GREAT job on the video. Thank you for sharing. I just helped a couple friends do this and they have people out of state that want to do it and I can just reffer them to your video!

  • Julie

What catagories do you use to organize your coupons?

    • deidre

I am grabbing my binder and I’ll post them today! Just realized I said I’d post them in my video and then I forgot to.

  • jennifer Bailey

Hi i am just getting into using coupons and you talk about catalinas what are they??

    • deidre

They are store coupons that print after you pay for items, usually from a machine next to the register. Kmart, Walgreens, Albertson’s, Smith’s, and more use Catalina coupons. These are usually only good at the store where they print out.

  • Brenda

I started my binder this week, and bought the baseball card holder pages. It was fairly time consuming setting it up, but now it’s organized… and I’m sure it’s going to save me tons of time finding the right coupons and not missing those I meant to use. Love the idea about the “sign here” stickies to remind me to use the hot coupons.
I have a question. As I was loading my coupons into the new binder, I was running out of the baseball card pages. I had already used 2 packages (30 pages each) and wasn’t sure I could fit many more in my binder. Do you use only one side of the pages? I mean, are the coupons only facing up on one side of the card holder pages? I started putting my coupons back to back in one slot of the page, rather than going to buy more pages. They’re a bit more difficult to get at, but I can still see them. I think it would be easier to have them all on one side of the pages, but wondered if that is how you do it.
Thanks for the tutorial! I use the “slice” type cutter, too. Works great!

    • deidre

Thanks! I actually use only one side, it’s just quicker for me. I think that will work fine for you though!

  • Arjumand

Hi! Your video was very inspirational. I really must get organised. My kids hate to go shopping with me bacause I stand there in the aisles trying to find my coupons from a huge stash! lol. I was wondering where you put your internet coupons. They’re pretty long compared to most others.Do you just fold them?
Also, would a box cutter work as well as a slicer?

    • deidre

A box cutter may tear the coupons. I have holders that hold bigger coupons – from couponclutch.com. They word great for me! They are like baseball card holders, but only 3 slots per page.

  • Angie

I use the file way of couponing and want to start using the binder. I’d love to have different sizes of clear inserts to put my coupons in, but don’t want to buy 5 different boxes of different sizes. I found this website: http://www.momsaves.com/binderkits. Is it worth the $19.95 to get the different sizes?

    • deidre

      I think so!

  • Mommy B

I need help with my organization of my binder.. maybe this will help

  • Modesty

    WOW! That’s great!

  • Lora

WOW, this video was SO great and SO helpful for us newbies. I just started couponing last week and have mostly been saving coupons and did get what I thought was a great deal on my groceries at Vons/Safeway in Southern CA. I’ve spent HOURS these last couple of weeks researching lists, ideas, coupons, etc. This has been THE BEST sight that I have found so far. I love the way you break up & suggest what to buy and coupons to use, etc for each store. Your step by step instructions on the binder have been SO helpful. I am ready to start my binder but am not sure yet where to get one so that will be my next research. Just wanted to say thank you so much for taking the time to guide us newbies. Lastly, I saw your Vons/Safeway & Alberston’s deal sights are not up to date. Am I possibly not going to the correct location on your sight or do you no longer list the deals for those grocery stores in CA? Thanks again and I look forward spending a lot more time here on your sight and learning more from you.

    • deidre

I don’t have time for Vons/Safeway & Albies, so I am not doing them currently. I do Walgreen’s, Target, CVS, Rite Aid, Kroger, and Walmart

    • deidre

Also, I updated the post to show my favorite coupon binder & where to buy it!

  • Amy Juhasz

This is awesome! Thanks for the video and all the tips!

  • Tonya James

    I love CCD!

  • kristen

I love the binder method, but baseball card sleeves are a real pain for me, so I use mostly currency sleeves

  • Tyne

This is so perfect. I need help on this, so I really appreciate this! Thanks!

  • Nicole

I send this link to all my friends that want to start!!

  • Nicole

    Loved that tool!

  • Rebecca V.

My mom has couponed and done rebates for years, and I am finally doing the same! What a money saver with so little invested time.

One tip to share: Where I live (Western NY) one can purchase the Sunday paper at the local Dollar Store for $1 versus the $1.50 newsstand price. I get the Sunday paper delivered, and will go purchase more papers if the coupons are good that week. (Some weeks they’re just not great and not worth the extra paper, even at only $1.)

  • Amy (catchu777)

Ok, I need to get me a binder. Where is the best place to get one?

    • Jan Mullen

I recently started my own binder for my coupons and I love it. SO much easier to see what you have. I bought my 3 in binder at Wal-Mart . The brand is Case It. It is zippered to keep things from falling out. Also in the front it has a section for keeping extra things such as the current weeks sales ads or the coupon policies. I put a zippered pencil pouch in the front to keep extra pens, scissors, and a small calculator in it. I paid about $15.00 for it. I should’ve waited for a back to school sale but I was impatient. Good Luck and Happy Savings!!!! Hope this helps someone. Jan, Maine

  • Danielle

watched this literally 10 times on you tube. Thanks this is a lot better than the way I was doing it.

    • deidre

      Thanks!

  • Shanna Bailes

I so need to do this!

    • Koyie

WAHOO! I am getting one of those slices!

  • Barbara

Where did you find this binder!

    • deidre

I found it at Walmart, but I hear Kmart has them too.

  • Kaye Albright

Hi, thanks for your ideas. Instead of using the splicer, I use a metal ruler from my sewing kit. I also picked up a small plastic cutting board at an estate sale yesterday, brought it home bleached it for several hours and used last nite. Thanks for the idea!

    • Amanda

OMG! At the mention of using the ruler from your sewing kit, it occurred to me that I could use my rotary cutter and mat! Might wear the blade out, but I haven’t had time to sew since I had my 1yo.

  • Maria Dueno

I looooove the slicer. I purchased it at a Pampered Chef party for $1or $2.

  • Audra

I watched your video and found it very helpful! I was wondering if you categorize inside you categories? For example: under your deoderant category do you put ALL deoderant coupons or just certain brands with the same price amount?

    • deidre

I really don’t categorize much inside my categories, but try to put the same coupons that we always get in the same areas.

  • anne conover

I loved this video because I, too, keep a coupon binder with baseball card sleeves. I can’t keep inserts because I’d constantly be flipping through them to look for a specific coupon based on a match-up I saw somewhere only to find that the coupon was not in my insert! I hate that regional thing, but it does happen. So then I’d flip again, thinking I’d missed it! No more!! And you are so right, once you’ve cut it you have a memory of what coupons you have!!

  • Kacy

Do you cut every coupon out of the paper? Or just the ones you know you will use? I might not use something normally, but if it is free or really cheap I might change my mind. But if I didn’t cut it out last week, I wouldn’t have it.

    • deidre

I cut all coupons except vitamins.

  • Kim

I love your videos. I’ve been using coupons off and on for awhile. But seeing your system is really easy. I watched the “Extreme Coupon” shows the one guy they showed his system is too complex! Thank you for your user friendly system. I also love you show more than just your area.

  • Kelly

I just started couponing and this is my first stop on a website!! This video is really helpful. I’m a paper carrier and I have access to coupons but never had any idea on how to keep up with the coupons I have in order. So thank you so much for the help. I do have another question, I’m not sure how to go about finding out the coupon limits at my neighborhood stores. I sure hope you will help me out. Thank you.

  • dawn

Why do you collect one paper per family member? Will you need 4 bodies there to use the 4 coupons? What’s the reasoning behind that? I am also a newbie (with 3 kids an 8 yr old daughter and twin 5 year old boys) and wish to learn the tricks of the trade. thank you for you help and awesome website!

    • deidre

No you will not need 4 bodies to use the coupons, you can use them all. It is just an estimate of how much you’ll need to stock up on items. It’s pointless to spend time clipping for one deal, you may as well stock up!

  • Shon

Where can I buy a binder like this?

  • Andrea Elliott

I am a new couponer. I have been setting up my coupon binder and cutting coupons like crazy. I found a great idea to cut my coupons. I have a picture cropper like the ones you would use to crop photos for scrapbooking. I am able to cut 8-10 stacked pages of coupons at once. because of the measure guide all i have to do is line them up. I can cut them all very neatly and never damage the bar codes. Give this a try ! I am sure you all will Thank me! Saves an a lot of time and cramping in your hands! I am still in the researching and organizing phase, so thanks a lot to all of you for your time cutting strategies!

I hope to save my family of 5 (4 guys) a lot of money by organizing and using coupon strategies.

  • Linda

I use a regular ruler to tear out my coupons. No more sore thumbs from scissors and they are cheap!

  • dawne ray

I can’t seem to get anything to work on your site. When I go to your coupon data base and try to print a coupon (example) $3 off petigree dog food when i click on “printable” it takes me to the site ,but I can’t go any where from there. where on your web site can i accually learn how to use your site. please I need your help….

  • Andrea Elliott

Two weeks ago, I went to price chopper store to purchase 12 Sunday papers. I thought i might get a bargain price considering it was 11;45p.m. No way. So I decided to purchase 12 papers. before I left the store, something told me to look at the coupons to see if they were worth the money I would spend on them. Thank God I Did! All but 2 of them were robbed of all the coupon inserts! Not one set of coupons in 10 PAPERS! I was very angry considering I traveled about 45 min to and from just for coupons. Somebody or people STOLE them. This past Sunday, I went to our local Hannaford store to puchase papers and I went through about 30 papers and not one coupon insert. People are becoming thieves just to get the coupons. Has anyone else come across this problem? I think the Extreme Couponing progam is making people dishonest and desperate!

Please offer me any suggestions that would help me get the coupons I need from missing out for 2 weeks in a row!! Thanks everyone!

    • deidre

Do you subscribe to the Sunday paper? Call your local paper and ask if you can get multiple copies delivered to you!

    • Jan Mullen

That has happened to me as well. I always check before purchasing my paper(s). Just a note. There are usually no inserts in the Sunday paper when there is a major holiday. Sounds like it was Labor Day weekend by your posting. You can go online and check to see what inserts will probably be in a certain week’s paper, depends on regions too. It shows which weeks that there will not be any inserts also. Jan, Maine

  • Lia G

Thanks so much for taking the time to post this! I am new to couponing and am thrilled to say that on our very first shot at couponing we saved 48% on an almost $400 shopping trip! Even my husband and kids were thrilled! I look forward to learning all the tips and tricks I can! :)

  • Lor

Hi, in your video you have a huge binder. Where can I get one of those?? Please let me know where to buy one of those awesome binders!! Thanks so much. And also, do those binder covers fit that thing? Thanks so much!! Lori

    • deidre

Hi that double binder is hard to find! Sometimes you can score them at Walmart. The cover should fit fine!

  • Darlene

Just ordered the deluxe binder from coupon clutch. The shipping was a bit steep, but just had to have one. I picked up a binder @office max last week but I wanted the one that looked like a purse.Thank you so much for the video on it. I am new to couponing and your posts have been such a great learning exp. Now for the ?. What is your opinion of enrolling in Saving Star. I have studied a lot of sights. Cuckoo is second to none. Thank you so much :-)

  • brooke

I have a question about the slice. have you cut your self with it .? I have kids is it safe for them? no one wants there kids to get hurt ! but even my kids try to help me, with that.

    • Lexie

I got the slice and have not hurt myself with it. My boyfriend even tried purposefully to cut himself but he couldn’t.

  • Krislyn

My husband would love one of those slice tools!

  • Debbie Conrad

The video was great. I have always used coupons but I like alot of other people my fnances have changed and I want to use them more. Since my daughter moved out and it is only me I kind of gave up using coupons but plan on using them a lot more now. I have one question – do you put only one coupon in the slot or do you put more than one coupon in each slot. Seems like you would need a lot of pages if you only put one in each slot but maybe I am missing something. Thanks

    • deidre

I stack all of the exact same coupon and put them in the same slot

  • wanda madore pinette

thank you for showing this..I am so new to all this and in such a mess “trying” to organize them, it has been …let’s say not so fun lol thank you again for helping

  • tanya Boje

thanks for the classes and i’m new at copunning still try to figure it all out love that binder thanks for your knowledge

  • leslie

Do you think you may make a tote large enough for a 4 or 5 inch binder, If you do let me know that is the sizes i would like to have.

  • Lexie

I watched this video and it really helped me get my binder together. I also got the slice cutter and I LOVE IT!! I use it for my coupons, and for opening boxes/plastic packages and pretty much anything I used scissors for before.

  • Nicole

Thank you for your help! I’m relatively new to the couponing world. My girlfriend in IL and I mail them back and forth and it really helps save some cash. Your amazing at couponing! WOW!!

  • Brandy

i like to use a 2 inch binder

  • Brandy

i organize my binder by groups (paper goods, medicine, baby stuff, dairy, etc).

  • Kara Parker

I use the “Envelope” system…. LOVE IT! Especially since I found the accordian binder that will fit in my purse! ($1 at TARGET!)

    Thanks!

  • Kat

I use a binder and organize by catagory. Its a binder with 2 sections so I do food & non-food and break it down from there.

  • Brandy

Inside my binder my groups are in order for the the store i most frequent. for example, i hit the medicine/travel section first, then baby section, then paper goods, then dairy, etc. that’s how they appear in my binder too.

  • Brandy

i’ve been using scissors, but i am eager to try the slicing method. i feel like that could save a lot of time.

  • Brandy

after i cut out all my coupons, they are placed into categories then get sorted into the section of the binder they belong.

  • Alyssa L.

Right now, I just use a zipped up portfolio organizer with different pockets for different stores / types of coupons. I’m still new at this and trying to figure out the best way to organize my coupons.

  • angela

I use a filing cabinet i dont clip untill I need them. now if i see something i really like I will clip and keep in my plastic folder in my purse I have it organized by product

  • Holly M

I cut out my coupons, and then organize them by type. I have 3 organizers. One small one that I put coupons in for each store, depending on when the sale is. 1 for food, and 1 for other stuff. :)

  • Brandy

i get 2 copies of the sunday paper for coupons, but i find myself mostly using internet printables the most. they seem to have such higher value.

  • Carissa

I subscribed to your youtube page. I use a 1 1/2″ 3 ring binder, but I think that I really may need to go to a 2″ or bigger! ;) I cut only the coupons for the items that I know we will use and purchase. I put the rest of the inserts in to a folder in the back in case there are some absolutely free deals somewhere along the way.

  • Brandy

after creating a grocery list i put coupons i will for sure use in a small storage container to keep track of them more easily.

  • angela

I wouldn’t mind trying the binder just haven’t got there yet only been doing about 6 months

  • Brandy

i like to use a zip around binder that way my kids don’t get into it.

  • Brandy

i use to use the file method, but found that i often couldn’t find coupons in a hurry when i found a deal.

  • Kat

Brandy: I am with you. I used the file system for 2 months and then had to switch because I couldn’t find my Qs!

  • Brandy

when i have duplicate coupons, i group them together in the same pocket so it doesn’t take up extra space and i can quickly look and see how many i have instead of searching for multiple ones.

    • deidre

I do that too! And the ones that expire soonest, I put them up front.

  • Monica

Thanks for the tip on the slicer. I am going to get me one and try that out. I do have the cramp in my hand when I have to cut out all of my coupons.

  • Brandy

i like the coupon clutch and might have to get one. thanks.

  • Brandy

i use (and reuse) post-it flags for my binder. When going through the grocery ads, if I see an amazing deal, I will flag the coupon so I don’t forget about it.

  • danielle h

I am so unorganzised when it comes to my coupons! The video helped so much! Thanks

  • Brandy

i keep my ads in the front pocket of my binder, so if i need to double check a price match, it is quick and easy.

  • Holly M

I like the idea of a zip around binder. My kids probably wouldn’t care to get into it, but I am ridiculously clumsy, so I know…eventally…inevitably…..it will drop!

  • Brandy

I now keep a post-it note and pen in my binder, that way i can jot down the price matches and hand it off to my husband at the register.

  • Brandy

I like to keep the coupons i am using in a small reusable container not only for convenience, but also when my daughter starts to get fussy I can hand it to her. It keeps her entertained (if only for a 10 minutes) and my coupons are still protected.

  • Brandy

to quickly locate the sections in the binder I use the dividers with labels on the side. when shopping with 2 little ones anything to make the job faster is a blessing.

  • Megan

My sister has me hooked on the binder method. I save a ton and now a days, that’s a must!! Completely addicted :)

  • Brandy

baseball card sleeves are the best for housing the coupons in the binder.

  • Brandy

i put my store coupons (target, walgreens, whole foods, etc.) in the back of the coupon binder in the same order as the grocery coupons. that way, i know where to look for a specific item whether it’s at walgreens, whole foods, or the grocery store.

  • Natasha

You know I found it hard to use Baseball Card Sleeves on my coupon binders the coupons almost never fit inside.

    Great video by the way.

  • Brandy

i usually make a list and stick in the binder so that i remember to check items that my coupons are expiring for. If i don’t do this, i often find these (expired) coupons and the end of the month because my mental note to check it out failed me.

  • Holly M

I haven’t tried the binder method yet. I will be trying soon, though, I’m sure!

  • Brandy

i keep sleeve protectors in the back of my binder for sheets of coupons for products i wouldn’t buy, unless it was a money maker or free.

  • Brandy

when making my grocery list, i write down specifics to qualify for the coupons. such as size, variety, etc. as well as the amount the coupon is for so I can determine if the coupon for the item is a better deal than the store brand.

  • danielle h

I guess I should start trying to keep a binder. I need to become a better couponer. I just get so lost..but being more organized will probably make it so much easier lol

  • Christy Rose

I go thru the weekly ads and pull my coupons and keep each store seperated in a pencil pouch so all I have to do is print my list and grab the pouch for my shopping trips.

  • Krystal

I use a file and separate each coupon into different categories. Grocery, restaurant, activities, etc.

  • Holly M

I have found that just trying to organize my coupons has kept me more organized in other areas of my life!

  • lauren rybarczyk

I just “upgraded” my binder. I used to have a plain Staples 1 inch binder, but it was getting too small and wasn’t durable so I got a three inch Case It zipper binder with a strap from Walmart and I am LOVING it. It is so easy to carry, super durable and holds a ton of coupons.

  • lauren rybarczyk

I use baseball card holders to hold my coupons and they are sorted in the binder by department (frozen, dairy, beverages, condiments, ect)

  • Holly M

I actually love to sit down with the paper every week. I get rid of expired coupons, and I organize the newly clipped coupons.

  • lauren rybarczyk

I also have a mini expandable file in my binder I use those for specific stores=CVS, Rite Aid, and Target.

  • BreeAnna McManus

I currently don’t have a binder. I stopped couponing like a year ago — as in I still don’t need to buy house and body items cuz my stockpile still has plenty.

  • Leona Evans

I need a binder with some baseball card sleeves. Every time I go to Walmart, they are sold out of the sleeves

  • Danielle

I use you system now and love it.

  • Leona Evans

I get my list together, search out my coupons, and put them into various envelopes inside my purse. I think I need some help lol

  • Leona Evans

I go thru my coupons every week. If I haven’t used them, I try to find someone to take them. I just have too many to use them all.

  • Leona Evans

I still keep an eye on store brands or other brands to make sure the coupon is actually helping me save money.

  • Danielle

Leona check by the check stand I have also seen them at Dollar Tree.

    • Jan Mullen

Thats where I found my baseball card plastic pages too. At the Dollar Tree up front on one of those spinning racks in front of the registers where you check out. They cost $1.00 for 10 pages. I also got my divider pages there in the stationery area of the store. Jan, Maine

  • Jenette

Right now I use a 2″, 3-ring binder and it works great! I have tabs separating out different sections like “frozen”, “snacks”, etc. Within each tab I use baseball card holders and photo holders to keep all the coupons separate. I keep all my store coupon policies and “groupon” type certificates neatly filed away in the binder as well so that ALL my coupons and discounts are in the same place.

  • Leona Evans

very informative video. I have only been couponing for about 3-4 months so I need tips :)

  • Holly M

I am looking for a binder to organize better.

  • Leona Evans

this is so great of you to do these kinds of giveaways. I forget about some of the other ones because they take so long to announce a winner.

  • Leona Evans

thanks Danielle… I will check the Dollar Tree.

  • Danielle

I still need that slice. I do have to use scissors.

  • Holly M

Can you find binders with baseball card sleeves, or do you have to buy them separately?

  • Leona Evans

I really need help with grocery shopping. I can’t seem to get above 20-30% savings. I mean that still helps, but just not where I want it.

  • Leona Evans

I would like a little coupon binder that would file my coupons for my trips, and still fit in my purse.. Do they make anything like that??

  • Holly M

@Leona, as far as I am concerned, websites like this one are AMAZING for shavin % off of you grocery budget. Subscribe and keep updated on the latest deals, tips, and tricks.

  • Kami

I used to keep whole inserts, but now I cut them all!

  • Leona Evans

@Holly Oh I will. I have been able to do pretty well with the household and personal items, but the grocery bill is a different story. Still need to improve a lot.

  • Lynda Del

Love the video! The binder system is the way to go for me!

  • Keely

I subscribe and use a small coupon organizer.

  • Jenette

When my newspaper comes on Sunday I clip the coupons that I know I’ll use along with the ones I might use and file them in my binder. The coupons that I’m pretty sure I wont use don’t get cut out, but I do keep the inserts filed away in case I need to go back and clip one!

  • Leona Evans

This is a great site for info and giveaways from what I have seen so far. Great work!

  • Leona Evans

OH forgot to say that i finally got the page to load and got subscribed to youtube. yay

  • Leona Evans

I try to get my coupons clipped every Sunday. I usually only buy 1 paper, but this past week, I upgraded and got 3! So much more work. We had 4 inserts in each lol

  • jennifer

i organized my binder by putting a tanle of contents in a sheet protector in the very front, each section has a number, i tried to keep it in alphabetical order. on the first baseball card holder of each section i put a post-it tab (strong lil things lol) with numbers on them. this makes it easy for even my husband to use my binder if necessary lol.

  • Leona Evans

I just remembered to sign up for the mailer you were talking about yesterday also.

  • Mary Ann

I have my mom send me coupons (she lives 3 hours away) because her coupons are usually for $1 most items whereas mine will be 50 cents to 75 cents off. The Giant here doubles up to and including $1 so it makes a HUGE difference. In exchange for the coupons she sends me, I load up on health and beauty items like deodorant, shampoo, and toothpaste for her and give it to her when we visit each other. I also use a 2 in 3 ring binder and have it separated by aisle.

  • Leona Evans

I have a small stockpile. any suggestions on how to get it going with limited space?

  • Andrea Waters

I use a 3″ binder with 20 different dividers. I carry it everywhere. I absolutely love having a binder.

  • Jenette

take advantage of the space you DO have, but may not be using… underneath beds, extra closet space, etc.
Shelves are also a MUST! :)

  • Leona Evans

I think a zip around binder is what I would need because I have actually dropeed all of my coupons out of my envelope in Kroger on the shampoo aisle. It was a mess, and I had them arranged in order, so that messed me up all the way around.

  • Holly M

I have my mom and my grandma save their coupons for me, as well. I then sort those, keeping the same coupons together.

  • Leona Evans

I also joined a swap group to give my coupons to others who will use them. I couldn’t imagine throwing them out when they can help someone else.

  • jenn

thanks for sharing this video. to be honest it is a bit slow moving so i found myself flipping to other pages. just a fyi. anyway, thanks for all the hard work you put into your blog

  • Laura

    Awesome binder organization tips! =)

  • Laura

My binder has the baseball card holders and is broken out into different categories. There are two main sections to my binder, Food and Non-Food. However within the food are multiple different categories and then a separate freezer and fridge section as well. Also, my non-food is broken out into many sub categories as well. Then I also have a “stores” section where I subcategorize my Giant Eagle, CVS, Walgreens, Target, Walmart and Rite Aid stuff. I love it!

  • Valerie Brenner

I use a trapper keeper (large). I separate into freezer, fridge, crackers/chips, cereals, non-fridge, drinks, pets, cleaning, free, restaurants and stores!

  • Leona Evans

I am not sure how I would organize a binder when I finally get one. I like to shop at diff stores, but someof them carry the same things. i would think if I separate by store, I might miss using a coupon for a better deal.

  • Sarah Ward

I use a huge binder and whole page clear sheet protectors.. I date the front of the coupon book and organize each full add (and all the duplicates) by type and date. Very easy to pull up an insert. However, I am at a loss when it comes to organizing my printables, anyone have any suggestions?

  • Leona Evans

I really need some amazon cash for Christmas :D

  • Holly M

I organize my printables in the same way I organize all other coupons. But I use 3 different small organizers, not a binder. I am not sure how I woud organize a binder. Not sure what kind of pages to use!

  • Holly M

I have to say, too, that my husband really supports the couponing…he loves the free stuff that we get!

  • Laura

I organize my categories alphabetically, only because I go to more than one store, and my main store has been remodeling so the aisles keep changing. Also, I keep the coupon policies in the back of my binder under the Stores tabs that I have.

  • Leona Evans

To hear people say which methods they use for binder organization just confuses me more lol. I guess I will have to watch how to video when I have my binder in front of me (after I buy one of course) so that I can be shown step by step …..

  • Holly M

Coupon policies…that is something that I should be keeping on me!

  • Holly M

That will be the next step in organizing my coupons!

  • Leona Evans

It has been lots of fun reading everyone’s comments. I have learned some things. Thanks for the advice from some of you. It is now time to pick up my daughter from school. Good luck to all & I hope I win one!!

  • Danielle

I love and use your coupon bider cat. although I put some that are in the same aisles like razors and shaving cream.

  • Danielle

I tend to put aisles that are close to together like shampoo and condition, hair color and makeup so when i’m traveling the store I only have to flip a few pages rather then front to back.

  • tracy

i used to put my coupons in trading card sheets

  • Catherine G

I havent clipped mine in almost 2 months – eek

  • Catherine G

I also havent cleaned my binder out in months – imagine all of the money wasted :(

  • Joyce Mlinek

Really liked your video on coupon binder organization. I like your slicing idea and your use of baseball card inserts. Thanks for all your great ideas.

  • Catherine G

based on the last flash give away – I would have thought there would be more comments -

  • Catherine G

I use the baseball card inserts – it was amazingly hard to find them after the extreme coupon show premiered.

  • Leona Evans

I’m back. i definitely need to organize my coupons. OMGosh. I need to go to the grocery store, but just don’t have then energy to go thru them right this second :(

  • Laura

I also use envelopes that I fit into the front of my binder, the envelopes have each store marked on them and I put the coupons for that week’s ad in the envelopes so I am ready to go.

  • Stacy Melendez

    This was a great video!
    I learned alot.

  • Holly M

I am going to find a binder for my coupons soon, I think. I watchd the video, and I think that it might be the best idea!

  • Leona Evans

    The suspense is killing me!!!!!!!!

  • Leona Evans

@Laura… this is what I do except minus the binder right now. I have diff envelopes, and I put what I am going to look for, then I make my little lists so I can mark off what I get. If anything is left over from one store, I will look to see if I can get the same deal or better at another. If not, I just bring them back home.

  • Diana

I bought my slicer at Harbor Freight Tools for $2.99 and used a 20% off coupon! After I saw this post I went and bought 5 more. :)

    Great video, thanks!

  • Kristy

Thanks so much for posting the link for the slicer! I just ordered one! I”m hoping it will make my clipping last longer!

  • Leona Evans

Whoo hoo I got my free Outback steak dinner and a huggies coupon from CVS today. I LOVE COUPONS!!!

  • Catherine G

I may have to invest in a slicer :)

  • Catherine G

I got my Outback coupon today too!!! The tastiest steak is a FREE steak!!

  • Diana

The slicer is great but another great tool I purchased was a small guillotine from Joann’s craft store. I waited until it was on sale (30% off) and then I purchased it for $11.99. That makes it easier when I have multiple pages of the same coupon. I usually use my slicer for the coupons I print on the internet. :)

  • Kathleen

The slicer is a wonderful idea. I look forward to reading all of the things that work for people. I have been into partially extreme couponing for about a month and have been struggling with organization.

  • Leona Evans

I think I will be getting a slicer also. I have been alternating from scissors to a wrapping paper cutter. But my lines are all crazy lol. Looks like this will make straighter quicker cuts.

  • Diana

A slicer is good but mine only cuts through two pages at at time, maybe three. I’m thinking I might have dulled mine already. hahaha

  • Diana

I think the one referenced in the vid cuts four pages at a time maybe more.

  • Jennifer B.

Thanks for the video. I tried one of those cutters and it ripped my coupon page. I don’t cut multiple inserts at the same time, so that might be my problem.

  • Tanikka R

I try to keep mine organized by baseball card holders

  • Diana

I use the 9 pocket and 6 pocket baseball card holders. They seem to work best.

  • Diana

A local comic book store sells the baseball cards pages for $0.20 each, the owner is super nice so I only buy them there (plus he sometimes throws in a few extra for free). heehee :)

  • Leona Evans

I think I have learned some valuable info here today! And I have the laptop right here on the bar so I can keep up with new comments while I am cooking. lol Gotta love Multi-tasking!

  • Lori

This is a great video; thank you for the valueable info!

  • Sherri

Love your binder, have one but still working on getting that big :)

  • Holly M

Just cut out recent printables, and organized those…walgreens shopping trip tonight! I have to use my RR’s before they expire!

  • Leona Evans

Where did you get that binder from? I have never seen one like it.

  • Melissa

I found your Slice review on Amazon…lol. I just bought one with my free Swagbucks Amazon card.

  • Michelle

    Nice Binder!

  • Catherine G

The only problem I see with a slicer is taking the time to line up the c’s correctly. Any time I try to cut multiples, I lose a few of the expiration dates or barcodes….

  • Danielle

I put little sticky tabs color tabs no particular color on the ones that I need to use quick before they expire and to remind me to look in stores for great deals on those items.

  • Catherine G

I think I have officially outgrown my binder

  • Diana

I just changed my binder method. I used to file the entire insert and labeled the dividers to know what insert was in each section (i.e. RP, SS and the date). Now I cut every one and use the baseball card pages. :)

  • Lorraine Pitcher

    Deidre,

Hi, I just started couponing about 10 days ago and I love it!!!. I’ve spent a lot of time finding coupons and organizing them. I plan to use some of my savings to buy a new binder and organziational materials. Right now I’m using a 3″ 3 ring binder with left over plastic binder dividers with pockets that I had around the house from school supplies. I love your organizational ideas and will watch this again when I get new binder supplies. Thank you so much for your website. I visit every day and have subscribed to your newsletter. You are an inspiration to us newbies. Thank you.

    • Melissa

Go to Target! School supplies are up to 75% off. You can get a good binder for cheap!

  • NW Homesteader

    how exciting!

  • NW Homesteader

    Great tips!!! Thanks :)

  • Leona Evans

OH how I wish we had a Target! It is a 45 minute drive from here. I wonder if I can plan an out of town shopping trip for my coupon savings… lol I think I will pitch the idea and see how well it goes over!

  • Sherl Bastien

Love this.. I need all the help I can get with coupons

  • Catherine G

I am going to hit target up this weekend for school supplies…. great time to get extras to donate!!!

  • Beth Warren

I’d love to win…I just use my scrapbooking paper cutter to cut coupons.

  • Laura Emerson

I love coupons and loved this video. I am always looking for tips when it comes to coupons and these are great!

  • Janet

I personally have my own method that makes sense to me. No binder.

  • Holly M

Due to my coupon organizing….my total at Walgreens just went from $30.49 (that is with sale prices) to $9 and some change!!!! :)

  • Keya

well I figure I try this commenting ! I started at walgreens the other week with my scenerio in hand ! so step by step I did it Now I can almost go in free and make catlinas I do nee a coupon binder which is the most sturdy? thanks Keya

  • Sus

I really don’t have a good system. I pull coupons each week put them in my coupon holder arranged by type of product. I used to carry all my coupons and then I started buying items I didn’t really need – in turn wasting money even if I got it cheap!

  • Holly M

Yeah, I just went to coupon clutch website….I know what I want for Christmas!!!

  • deanna

I use 2″ 3 ring binder and put the baseball card size holders. I like to keep it small and tight so it’s easy to carry. If the coupons are bigger I have a few of the page protector sheets in the back for different categories.
    xoxoxo

  • Leona Evans

Well, it is getting late. I came back by to see if the commenting was still going on. It is almost 11:30 here. And my 17 month old is not wanting to go to bed. So, what kind of method do you use for your coupons? (for the ones who do not use a binder)

  • Catherine G

Looks like another full day of commenting tomorrow – night all

  • Leona Evans

I guess we will continue with the commenting in the morning. I have to get to bed now. Trip to Kroger planned for in the morning. Alone with my 17 month old. This should be interesting. :(

  • Melissa

Now that everyone is going to sleep… I wonder how bad it’d be if I flooded this with 200 comments so I can finally win! lol

  • Catherine G

Is it bad to dream about coupons?

    • Jan Mullen

Gosh I hope not!!! Or I may be in trouble………..LOL. Jan, Maine

  • Catherine G

I just turned one of my neighbors onto coupons – she went to work and told all of her co-workers – now suddenly my cell phone wont stop ringing with questions – that will teach me to introduce people to coupons when Harris Teeter is having triples!!!

    • Karon

It was nice of you to share your couponing tips with a friend/neighbor! You all can learn things from one another! Good deal
      !

  • Tepe

    I’d never seen a coupon cutter before…

  • Leona Evans

Are we still going? lol I sure hope my shopping trip works out today. I have my list ready. But, first, I have to drive out of town to take my daughter to the dentist. Well, whatever I would have saved will be spent on gas LOL

  • Holly M

Good morning all! Time for commenting on coupon organizing! :) Grocery store for me today, too, but I don’t have much to buy -still using coupons!

  • Owen’s Mom

Very cool slicer! I use a small paper cuter for cutting things like this. I currently keep my coupons in a simple envelope, but am looking for a better way to stash & organize. I am just starting in the coupon clippin’ department.
    andrea.kruse at gmail dot com

  • mikka

I organize my coupons by category- Health/Dogs/Baby..etc. And I just use an accordian style right now. I just started couponing, and I’ve tried the binder method, but I just don’t have enough coupons yet! Lol! It was a hassle to bring a big binder that only had a few pages in it. I purchased the accordian style at Target’s $1 section and it fits in my giant purse! Hehe.

  • Holly M

Sounds to me like a lot of people have the same coupon organizer that I have – love Target’s $1 section!

  • Diana

Good morning ladies! Funny thing, I have this huge binder and my husband noticed that I don’t take it into the stores often – mostly because people in L.A. aren’t shy about looks or comments and I’m usually not one to allow a person to be rude – but I’m super proud of my binder so he bought me an over-sized purse at the goodwill and cut it to make something similar to the clutch purse/binder seen at the top of this post. We’re in the process of converting the binder and I’m super excited to post pics when it’s done. Sigh, I love my hubby! :)

  • Diana

I’m still keeping my $1 accordion filer for quick trips though…..I LOVE that thing! heehe :)

  • SUSAN

This makes so much sense and will save me a lot of time. Thank you

  • Catherine G

I think I am going to separate my binders into one for things I buy at CVS and Wags and one for grocery –
I almost never buy grocery items at the drug stores and vice versa.

  • Holly M

Just got a coupon online for $2 off peanut butter, making it free. That is one of those coupons I don’t have to organize! It will just come right with me to the grocery store today! :)

  • Mippy

    Hi Deidre!
I don’tr have a binder yet. I’m not that organized. I have a clear plastic envelope that i carry my coupons in right now :) One day…I WILL be organized…lol :)

    • Tia

Mippy, now is the time to find a binder with back to school sales (even if you aren’t ready to use it, at least you got a great deal on it!). I saw at Walmart the past couple weeks they have been between $10-$15 and they have a nice variety!

  • Diana

Anyone have any good tips on categories for coupon binders?

  • Tia

I would love to know the ideas of others on what Diana said about categories. I have been having a hard time trying to figure out what is good for me. Ideas would be great!

  • Tia

  • Holly M

I group my coupons in 3 large groups, with lots of smaller groups for each group. The large groups are food/nonfood/specific stores.

  • Holly M

In the food group, I kind of tend to keep things per aisle (or at least close to the same aisle). I have groups for dairy/meat/other refrig. items, freezer food, breakfast foods, baking aisle, breads, condiments/canned food, and a few others.

  • Holly M

In the nonfood group, I do the same thing. I have separate groups for makeup, body wash/lotion, hair products, cleaning supplies, laundry, and others. In this one, I also have a misc. group. I use that for random coupons that don’t fit anywhere else, like batteries, office supplies, and things like that.

  • Holly M

The last group that I have is for specific stores. I keep coupons that can only be used at certain stores in this group. I also watch for sales and when one comes up that matches a coupon from another category, I put it in with the specific store it should be used at. I hope that makes sense! :)

  • Diana

That’s pretty good Holly, I think I’ll try that!:)

Living in Los Angeles I have lots of stores around so I do keep my “store specific” coupons in its own divider but the rest just get a little mixed up. I would love to be able to separate them by store aisle but that seems tough because of the different stores and the layout of each but the way you have it, they’re pretty much around the same general area in every store (food vs non food). I’ll have the main categories and then sub-categories. I like it! Thanks! ;)

  • Jean

I use a 2″ binder with baseball card holders and also some full page clear holders for keeping copies of store coupon policies.

  • Melissa

Come on people. We need to keep leaving comments! lol

  • Melinda

how many comments can I leave?

  • BG

I keep my coupons in a divider booklet

  • Sean

we do a lot of CVS extra care buck deals!

  • Joy

I love your coupon organizer, i need to get one

  • Melinda

    can we leave multiple comments?

  • Melinda

    oh im a subscriber

  • Melinda

Comment as many times as you like! woo hoo, i will

  • Melinda

    just shared on FB

  • Melissa

Hi Melinda! Hope you’re having a fantastic day! ahaha

  • Holly M

I’m with you Melinda! :) I’ve been keeping tabs on this since yesterday, and trying to comment as much as possible! I haven’t commented, though, that I did subscribe on you tube….my first subscripton there ever!

  • Jenette

I (& my coupon binder) went to the grocery store last night and bought 32 items for $22… 69 cents each isn’t bad considering the purchase included Tide, beer, 10 lbs of potatoes, simply oj, and 28 other items! :)

  • Holly M

We are getting closer to 400….little by little! :) I just used some online coupons, and got around $70 worth of merchandise for $16 and some change with shipping!

  • Melinda

    i dont think we’ll hit 400, let alone 300 :-/

  • Melinda

    are we there yet?

  • Melinda

    1

  • Melinda

i prefer online coupon codes, better deals most time

    • Jan Mullen

I have heard about online coupon codes but have never used any. How do they work? Jan, Maine

  • Tia

I’ve been subscribed on youtube for quite a while. This was the first couponing channel I subscribed to :)

  • Tia

I’m still learning about coupon codes. I never seem to find anything I need with them. I must be doing something wrong, I guess.

  • Holly M

We’ll keep commenting! :) Maybe tomorrow sometime??? And I love coupon codes online, too!

  • Melinda

    im gonna keep tryng

  • Melinda

    how about another?

  • Melinda

    one more

  • Melissa

Why did six run away from seven??

  • Melinda

    I’d have to post 156 more comments…yikes

  • Melissa

    Because seven eight nine :)

  • Melinda

    one more?

  • Melinda

melissa – its you and me it seems….if we split it we’d have to post 70 each?

  • Melinda

    we can do it

  • Melinda

    what do you think?

  • Holly M

    I’m here, too!

  • Melissa

    Melinda and Holly…lets do this!!

  • Kelly Burroughs Crowell

Ok I’m going to try to help build the numbers up!! :) Good Luck ladies (and gentlemen)

  • Melissa

I’ve always wanted to win one of these contests she has. I hope I finally get one! lol

  • Holly M

So, what is the best coupon you have ever had?

  • Melissa

Any coupon for something free! I love free stuff. Actually, Target had a coupon a couple months back for $10 off a Bathroom Furnishing which scored me a couple free towels!

  • Holly M

I love the $10 off of $10 at JC Penney…or the occasional $15 off of $15 at Lane Bryant. Of course, those get used right away, so no need to organize whole lot!

  • Holly M

Oh, that is a great coupon, Melissa! We just moved, and I had to update my bathroom stuff. I bought my towels at Target….would’ve been nice to have! :)

  • Holly M

Well, it’s been fun. I will be checking back on coupon organizing in the morning! :)

  • Tia

Where/how do you get those Holly? The JC Penney and Lane Bryant ones? Those would be my favorite!!!!

  • Tia

Have a good night, Holly :)

  • Holly M

I got the JCP one from being a part of their rewards program, and the Lane Bryant ones from giving them my email and address when I checked out. Love it! You have good night, too!

  • Kelly Burroughs Crowell

I don’t ever get anything from JCP but I do love the $10 off coupons that Kohl’s will send out once in a while!! Those have scored me some AMAZING deals in the past :)

  • Melinda

    good night

  • Owen’s Mom

I don’t have many coupons to organize as I have a hard time finding them. Any suggestions for a country gal without newspaper inserts?

  • Owen’s Mom

I am not sure how to use the online sites as more stores seem to be cracking down on coupons.. or just making it hard to use them at all. Maybe it is a small town thing?

  • Tia

Owen’s Mom, I have the same problem. I actually get my inserts from a really nice woman on ebay. I could get a bigger city paper that sometimes has coupons in it (much smaller inserts), but it actually saves me money to just order them through her.

  • Tia

Thank you Holly for the info!

  • Jan Mullen

Owen’s Mom, do you have a recycling /transfer station in your town where people bring their recyclables or things that they no longer need? I also live in a small town about 3500 people. We have a place that you bring things you no longer need/want . You can leave what you want and take things that were left from others for free. I have found inserts in the paper recycle area. Also ask any friends or relatives that may live in a bigger city for their insets that they do not want. My grammy saves hers for me. She keeps a folder of them for me to pick up when I go into town to visit her on one of my shopping days.(to save gas of course)!!! Also you could subscribe to the magazine called “ALL YOU”. It is sold only at Wal Mart or from a subscription. Each month it loaded with great coupons and ideas to help you save money. Good Luck! :) Jan, Maine

  • Leona Evans

I see you guys talking numbers…

  • Leona Evans

Do we need to get to 400?

  • Leona Evans

    How do you know?

  • Leona Evans

I have been hoping all day that I didn’t miss the winner announcement.

  • Leona Evans

I did get to Kroger today, among lots of other things…

  • Leona Evans

Today turned out to be a very busy day. I am beat!!

  • Leona Evans

I left at about 11:30… popped back home 2 times for 5-10 minutes,…. and finally made it home after 8 p.m.

  • Leona Evans

This is a very looonnng flash giveaway :O

  • Leona Evans

I left my receipt in the truck.. I am too tired to go out and get it… but if this is still going tomorrow LOL, I just might have to look over my totals and tell you how I did.

  • Leona Evans

I can tell you that I FORGOT to give the cashier my $10 off $100 order, and I am very upset that I didn’t remember to hand it over with my other coupons!!

  • Leona Evans

OK all… I am falling asleep here… Goodnight

  • Melissa

I agree with Leona…VERY long flash giveaway. lol

  • Catherine G

this is definitely the longest flash giveaway lol…but I still check it not less than 10 times a day!

  • Kelly Burroughs Crowell

Oh I know!! But I love it just because it’s different :)

  • Holly M

Good morning! Here’s to a day of good couponing! :)

  • Catherine G

sent my husband out the door with coupons to Harris Teeter and Kroger this morning – is it natural to be scared that he will overspend? Can you say control freak??!! LOL

  • Catherine G

Is it wrong of me to want to sit here for 30 minutes and post comments just to build the numbers?

  • Catherine G

Deidre – just wanted you to know I actually got in trouble with my husband for waking up at 0545 this morning and checking this post…lol

  • Catherine G

Did I mention how much I love Amazon??? I use amazon almost exclusively at Christmas and when my husband was in Afghanistan – they are the only ones that ship there quickly!!

  • Catherine G

Off topic of binder organization – did everyone see the $8 rebate form for Digiorno pizza? Its from Miller beer but no beer purchase is required!!! Right now at Kroger they are on sale for $4.99 or $4.49 after mega event. There is a $1 coupon in the 9/11 paper (not sure ss or rp) that makes it $3.49 each – submit for rebate and make $1.02 for two delicious pizzas!!

  • Holly M

Wow, Cathrine, that is a great deal on pizzas! I wish we had a Kroger around here. We just moved, and I used to have a Kroger 5 minutes from my house. I have had to adjust to new stores. Off topic as well, is your husband in the military?

    • Catherine G

Holly – How about Walgreens? They have Digiorno on sale for $4.99 starting Sunday. After the $1 coupon and the rebate its still free pizza. The rebate ends 9/18 which happens to be sunday. If you want I can send you a rebate form

  • Catherine G

He just got out of the Army but hes a contractor now and he ended up right back in Aghanistan…arrgh!!

  • Catherine G

Im officially an addict!! I just prepared my list for the first week in October!!!

  • Catherine G

I have enough Halloween candy planned to be the most popular house in the neighborhood!!

  • Kelly Burroughs Crowell

Good morning ladies :) looks like just over a hundred more till we find out the first winner YAY!! Good luck and hope everyone has a Fabulous Friday!!!

  • Kelly Burroughs Crowell

Catherine, I think I need to take some advice from you on organization :) I’m so unorganized and it doesn’t help that I haven’t been able to get inserts the past like 6 weeks due to our budget. But I’m hoping to turn that around because my coupon pile is getting so low!! I could only wish to be organized enough to be preparing my list for next month.

  • Kelly Burroughs Crowell

I agree Holly!! We don’t have any of those good stores here either :( Our choices for buying groceries are Meijer & Walmart and of course there isn’t anyone in a 100 mile radius that does double coupons. I get so jealous seeing all the amazing double coupon deals out there but the stores around here stopped doing it many years ago.

  • Kelly Burroughs Crowell

I do have to say I love my emails that show me next weeks ad (received on Friday) because it really helps with planning especially at Walgreens!!

  • Kelly Burroughs Crowell

Ok so I have a quick ?? does anyone know of a good reliable insert supplier?

  • Kelly Burroughs Crowell

    YAY #300!!

  • Kelly Burroughs Crowell

Ok guys I did my little part this morning so let’s keep those comments rolling and show Deidre how fast we can do the next 100 :)

  • Holly M

Thanks for the Walgreens idea Catherine! I will totally look into that one. I was wondering about the military because my husband did 10 years in the air force. He got out about 3 years ago, and now he is in his first year at vet school. With me a homeschool mom, and him in school full time, I need as many coupons as I can get my hands on!

  • Diana

Good Morning Ladies! :) Happy Happy Friday!

  • Holly M

Since I homeschool, my kids come with me to shop. They love to be the “coupon catcher” at CVS!

  • Diana

Is it bad that when I return an item to Walmart I make sure to tell them I used a coupon so they don’t hand me back more cash than I actually paid?

My sister says she would keep the extra dollar on each item returned, put it aside and put that money towards my charity shopping trips. Sigh, the guilt I would feel….hahaha :)

  • Catherine G

    Kelly and Holly –
Ok ladies – I get 10 or so papers a week and we get some decent values out here in VA. There is no way I can use all of them and would love to share anything you are both looking for.

  • Catherine G

Holly – I left corporate america to raise our two youngest now 7 mos and 23 mos…so I definitely feel you. Its why I turned to coupons too..

  • Catherine G

But now – I could hit the Lotto and still would use coupons!! Oprah does it!!

  • Diana

I get a about the same amount of papers here in Los Angeles and wouldn’t mind sending q’s others need.

By the way, I still have a ton of inserts (some haven’t expired) and expired q’s if anyone knows where I can send those. I just got my binder organized so now I have lots of stuff I didn’t even know expired, plus some that aren’t but I know I’ll never use them. The only issue is that they aren’t organized at all, they’re kind of a mess actually but if anyone knows where I can send them, I’d love to do that. They’re sitting in my kitchen, in a lid from a file box and there’s no way I can bring myself to throw them away.

  • Catherine G

Tomorrow and Sunday are incredibly busy for me so I guess we need a winner today :)

  • Diana

Sigh, life is too fast-paced here, in moments like these I come to realize I need to slow down and get myself together. I’m going to try to commit to organizing those inserts. hahaha

  • Holly M

Catherine, that is so nice of you! :) And I am totally with you on using coupons even if I won the lotto! I love finding a coupon and a sale to get something for free that I really need too much to let it go!

  • Diana

No worries Catherine, I’m posting random thoughts a mile a minute! hahaha

  • Catherine G

Diana – every time I have to toss coupons I feel like Im throwing away money – I would love to know of a place to send mine as well

  • Catherine G

now remember that she said the winning comment had to be related – so around 380 or so we should get back on topic of organization :)

  • Holly M

I want someone to win today, too, but I will be MIA all afternoon. Taking the kids to see Lion King, and then maybe to the park. I will still help build up the numbers for a little while, though! :)

  • Diana

I know that on Couponmom.com there is a lady you can send them to and she ships them overseas but they have to be organized and sorted and mine definitely aren’t either of those! eek! I’ve also seen posts where people talk about sending expired q’s to military personnel but I’ve never seen an actual address.

If i find a place to send mine, I’ll be sure to post it……somewhere on Diedre’s awesome site! :)

  • Diana

    Good thinking Catherine! 380…check!

  • Holly M

Maybe we can build up the numbers really fast! :)

  • Holly M

I should probably save this for 380 or so, but I went to the grocery store yesterday, and managed to forget something – this was not a surprise as I manage to forget something nearly every time. Anyway, I was planning on heading back after I take my kids to the movies today. This morning, I found a coupon online or exactly what I need that I did not have yesterday!! Very exciting for me!

  • Diana

Do the theaters in your areas have different pricing for matinee? We save tons of money going to see a movie before noon. The regular price is about $12.50 last I checked but matinee is only $6.00. Forget about 3D though, you’ll go broke just planning the trip to the movies! hahaha

  • Diana

woohoo! I love when that happens!

  • Holly M

@Kelly, or anyone else who has a Meijer nearby, according to their ad, it looks like they are having all kinds of food samples out this afternoon, at least in my area. I am going to go try some new things, and hope that they have some coupons out with the samples.

  • Diana

    mmmmmmm samples!!!!

  • Diana

Stores out here never do that……except for maybe Costco……huge warehouse superstore kinda place. It’s the mecca of “one stop shopping”

  • Catherine G

Holly – Im all for that!! Speaking of organization.. my two year old just dumped out my envelopes for next week so it looks like I will be reorganizing :)

  • Holly M

We are going at 12:10 here, and the matinee pricing is still happening then! :) I wish we could see it in 3D, but I get terribe vertigo when I watch a movie in 3D, so I was really happy to see that it came back out in 2D, too. Our theater is only showing it in 2D at 12:10, so that is when we are going!

  • Diana

    Cute!

  • Holly M

Ahhh!!! I feel your pain! :) I think everytime I get my kids playroom/schoolroom all organized and set up, it becomes a disaster all over again! Thank goodness, they kind of stay away from my coupons. :)

  • Diana

Very cool! Yeah, aside from the steep pricing, I’m not that hip on 3D movies.

  • Diana

Heehee. I guess it’s cute from the outside looking in. Not so much when you have to reorganize. :)

  • Diana

See, not even an hour in (since I’ve been here) and we’re already 30 posts closer! hahaha ;)

  • Tia

I’m in the process of reorganizing my binder.

  • Tia

I have a ton of coupons sitting in front of me.

  • Catherine G

I cant do 3D either – Im not liking the trend for everything to go 3D

  • Holly M

You know, at this rate, I actually might still be around at 400! :)

  • Melissa

Alright! Lots more comments. It’s getting so close I don’t know if I should go shopping.. I might miss out.

  • Tia

I unfortunately went on hiatus from clipping/saving for a while. Had a lot of stress and couldn’t concentrate.

  • Catherine G

Tia – yesterday I had to sort through the pile I had and now have them in a file cabinet…YIKES!!

  • Holly M

@Tia, I love to organize my coupons! I look forward to cutting and sorting every Sunday! Have fun!

  • Catherine G

My plan is to start with the oldest inserts first and try to clip one set each night after the kids go to bed…unless it a great coupon – if it expires in the next week or so Im not clipping :)

  • Tia

3D is cool for some things, but they are starting to go overboard. Tried out the 3Dtv at Best Buy and I didn’t see anything spectacular.

  • Catherine G

it dropped 21 degrees today here in VA!! Im so happy about triples and campbells soup coupons this week!! Grilled cheese and soup here we come!!

  • Holly M

Take it a little at a time. You can do it!

  • Tia

I’m OCD about the organization, so it is frustrating for me LOL

  • Holly M

Hey, question. Do you guys do all of your shopping once or twice during the week, or do you go out more often then that to snag a good deal?

  • Tia

Yeah, I take one set per night and clip clip clip. Then organize them the next day

  • Catherine G

Has anyone ever heard of a box tops forum – where people trade coupons for box tops? I would love to give some coupons in exchange for box tops!!

  • Tia

I live 50 miles away from all the store, so I only can go once a week :( I’d go more if I could!

  • Catherine G

Holly – We live about 30 min outside of town so I try to do all of it on sunday – Kroger here the sale starts sunday so I hit walgreens, cvs, rite aid and Kroger. If Harris teeter has a good EVIC then I stop there too – all in all its about 5 hours of shopping

  • Tia

Oooh! No, but I would love to get coupons for box tops lol

  • Tia

Catherine, what do you use the box tops for?

  • Holly M

I have 3 CVS’s, 3 Walgreens, 2 Meijer’s, 2 Walmarts, 2 County Markets, an 1 Target all within 10 minutes of me. I realize I end up doing many more trips than I probably should!

  • Melissa

Supposedly, according to my boyfriend I go shopping every single day. That isn’t true. I go shopping maybe 4 times a week…lol

  • Tia

We only have Walmart, Walgreens, and Target there, really. I WISH I had the shops ya’ll do!

  • Catherine G

We are putting together Halloween boxes for the troops right now – I am so full of Candy corn that it is ridiculous!!

  • Tia

    I am SO JEALOUS, Holly!

  • Diana

So how do “triples” work? Any limit?

  • Melissa

Right now in my head I’m figuring out which store I want to go to first today…. I let my renuzit coupons expire!! OH NO! No free renuzit cones.. :(

  • Holly M

I’m folding laundry while we chat. I have about 20 minutes before we leave. We may actually get to 400! :) I’m sure I won’t be around for 500, though. Sad… :(

  • Tia

No doubles or triples where I live either, so not sure LOL Man, I could make out so much better if I lived in a bigger city!

  • Melissa

I have 3 walgreens, 2 CVS, 2 Walmarts, a Target, and 2 Rite Aids in this town. I wish our Target was a Super one though!

  • Catherine G

The schools are able to turn them in for money. We live in the country and our elementary school is so overcrowded that the younger kids are in “trailers” Its about 1500 kids so they need all the funds they can get. The classes compete for totals and the winning class get pizza -

  • Tia

Our Walgreens doesn’t even have their sales completely set up until Monday. Is that how it is with everyone else’s?

  • Catherine G

Holly – if we all slow down at 400 – then 500 could come tomorrow :)

  • Holly M

I wish I could shop for you Tia! It makes the decisions about where to go to find the deals a little harder. @Melissa, I’m sorry! I hate when that happens!

  • Catherine G

We only have one Wags and they never have stock. We have some shelf cleaners so I have to get there as close to 8 as possible to hope to get a deal or two

  • Melissa

You guys are going so fast!!! lol

  • Tia

Our schools don’t deserve any money they are so bad. If I have a child, I will home school. That’s how bad they are!

  • Tia

Catherine, we have the same problem with our Wags. All the toothpaste was gone by 10am on Sunday this week :( Luckily we have awesome managers that substitute and give rainchecks to the non shelf clearers!

  • Holly M

Okay, so I have so many coupons that I am right now switching to a bigger purse so that my coupons can stay more organized!

  • Catherine G

I spreadsheet all of my deals by sat night and put them in separate envelopes by transaction.

  • Diana

You’d be surprised, people don’t coupon too much here in L.A. (that I know of) but we have shelve cleaners like crazy. I have three or four Targets I can easily get to, four CVS, one Walgreens, four Rite Aids, one Walmart, a few Ralph’s/Krogers, one Albertson’s and one Vons/Safeway. Imagine all the running around and decision making I have to do for every shopping trip…hahaha. Worse when the product is all gone!

  • Tia

Although, I was able to get the airwick deal, and they only had room on their shelves for 2 of them, and I took both. I won’t say that is shelf clearing when they only offer 2. I didn’t take any of the minis.

  • Catherine G

In Phoenix I had 3 wags within 4 miles and by 9am the shelves were clear!!

  • Holly M

Lovely. I am organized with my coupons, they are right here. However, I had to search for a bit to find my wallet!

  • Tia

I wish I had that option, Diana! When it’s out it’s out here :(

  • Melissa

Ha, I went to WAGS at 5am and the shelf clearing lady was there. After she left the employee told me she did 22 transactions at a little over an hour. That women pisses me off…

  • Holly M

Yay! I now have my coupons organized in my bigger purse! Now the organizers won’t be falling out as I go into the stores!

  • Tia

I’m going to ask wags when they get their truck in at mine. I think it’s on tuesday and if that is the case, I’d be better off going during the week. But the hubs likes to go with, so… * sigh*

  • Catherine G

WOW!!! WHO NEEDS THAT MUCH TOOTHPASTE????? LOL

  • Melissa

Tia, taking 2 is not shelf clearing. If there was only one on the shelf and you took it, you aren’t shelf clearing. It’s the people that take WAY more.

  • Catherine G

Our wags takes their time stocking and get an attitude when you ask….sigh

  • Holly M

I have not actually run into a shelf cleaner. I try not to take all of the good deals! Just what we need or will use in the near future.

  • Tia

I have a binder I go in with. I need to save to much to hide any of it LOL My daughter (step, but she’s all mine, really). That’s graduating from college in Dec and she’s still needing money all the time.

  • Tia

    I haven’t run into one, either… I think I’d snap if I did. 22 trans? I can’t believe they let her!

  • Melissa

This was the first women. I saw the Sunday before last. I’m usually a quiet person but I actually went off on her the first time I saw her. UGH!

  • Holly M

Getting close to 400 now! I have 3 organizers, and they are all different colors. I can easily know which one I need for the moment based on the colors.

  • Catherine G

My binder stays close too just in case of unadvertised deals!!!

  • Catherine G

I have been using a zippered binder and baseball card sleeves but after reading these posts.. I bought some currency sleeves for the larger ones!!! Oh what a difference!!!!

  • Catherine G

Husband just bought me a slicer!! No more scissors!!

  • Tia

I have 4 4 pocket sleeve. I love them for the bigger ones! and the teeny ones to go on the sides

  • Diana

I definitely prefer having both types of sleeves in my binder, makes it easy to see the q’s that don’t print out so well when you’re ink is low…hahaha

  • Catherine G

I saw a suggestion to use a wheel – I tried that and it ripped my coupons!! Going to test the slicer today!!

  • Melissa

I don’t have a binder. I have one of those accordion folder things which goes in my purse, as well as a pencil box full of coupons. IF I know for sure I’m using a coupon I put it in my wallet. My not being organized works for me.

  • Tia

    I tried a slicer and didn’t like it :(

  • Holly M

My coupons are always organized close by when I am shopping! That way, I have them if I need them!

  • Catherine G

I am planning on putting all of my internet prints in the currency sleeves!

  • Tia

I actually have the binder that’s in this video and I love it! Just wish it was bigger!

  • Diana

The slicer is a life saver but I’m telling you those guillotines are awesome!

    • Diana

Hey Diedre, thanks a TON for another great giveaway! It was super fun! :)

  • Melissa

I bought my folder at Target, Hello Kitty, on clearance. I have everything organized by store.

  • Tia

I like the staple and clip method

  • Catherine G

I have been using a zippered binder and baseball card sleeves but after reading these posts.. I bought some currency sleeves for the larger ones!!! Oh what a difference!!!! Yeah!!

  • Tia

    Great job Diana! Congrats!

  • Holly M

I love to have my coupons organized!

  • Melissa

    AWW DARN IT! :(

  • Catherine G

    Congrats Diana!!!!!

  • Tia

So close I was! Dang! hehe

  • Holly M

Congrats diana! You hit 400! Way to have your coupons organized!! :)

  • Catherine G

Will attempt 500 later today perhaps??!!

  • Tia

I have categories I just remade… and now will have subcategories also, I think.

  • Diana

Ummm…….huh? Does that count? AAAHHHH!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!! Thank you Lord, I don’t think I’ve ever really won anything. :) You guys are awesome! I’m having so much fun chatting it up, I didn’t realize we were so close! hahaha

  • Holly M

Well, I have to be going to take my kids to the movie. Good luck on 500 everyone! :)

  • Catherine G

Holly – you can email me at adimeandanickel@yahoo.com if you ever need coupons

  • Tia

Have a nice time Holly :)

  • Diana

So now to get to 500! Sorry Holly, I really wanted you to get this one since you’ll be gone. :)

  • Tia

That’s the best kind of win… When you don’t even realize until it’s over :)

  • Diana

I have tons of coupons too, I’m at silly.lil.d@gmail.com if anyone needs. ;)

  • Tia

I send any I don’t need to the troops.

  • Diana

Hey Tia, we were talking about that…..do they have to be organized/sorted? Do you have one specific address you send them to all the time?

  • Jenette

$2 off coupon on Wholly Guacamole’s fb page today… that one is going in the coupon binder! :)

  • Tia

I send mine to the address on CoupsForTroops.com and according to them, you do not need to sort them. Although, I do sort mine into food and non-food.

  • Tia

:( I ran out of printer ink a while ago and I can’t justify buying more right now. If I win this card, I’ll be able to get some. I love my daughter, but really wish she would manage her money better. She is getting a degree in accounting after all!

  • Diana

I’m like Catherine, I feel like I’m throwing away money so I’ve been saving them. I heard the troops can use expired q’s up to 6 months after expiration…is that true?

On a side note, I accidentally took some expired $3 Nivea lip product q’s to Target a couple of weeks ago (I noticed when I was in line, ugh) but they scanned so I used them with my Target q’s to get them free! The guilt remains….hahaha.

  • Catherine G

Jenette – mine is going straight to the store!!! We have 49ers vs cowboys this weekend and Im thinking nachos!!

  • Tia

I am thinking of doing the direct mail program also so I can send out what those families actually need.

  • Catherine G

Tia – still print it but it should stay in your que till you get ink…that way if the expiration date is a little further out you can print when you get some ink.

  • Diana

I know what you mean about wishing family members would manage their money better. My siblings are that way, that’s why I always buy my mom’s groceries because they live with her still but can’t seem to manage to give her enough to cover the expenses.

  • Glen F.

The family is still working on an ideal system to use, however we are using the baseball card sleeves, organized to the “t” for each product we typically use, such as Clorox, for example, in a 4 inch binder (may reduce the size, though). It works for right now.

We also use a separate file, with clear pockets, for items to purchase, divided by each of the stores we usually shop. This also works well for us.

Lastly, a written list, separated by each store, made via Excel to easily keep track of the purchases to be made.

  • Catherine G

With all of the natural disasters right now we should be able to find a way to donate to quite a few things but where to start looking?

  • Diana

ooooo Catherine! That’s great advise! I’m doing that when I run out!

  • Tia

Yes, the overseas families can use them past the exp date 6 months at the commisary and PX/BX.

  • Tia

ooh! Catherine, I didn’t think of that! Thanks!

  • Catherine G

I got a great deal on clearance diapers a few weeks back and bought all the store had… I have 2 kids in diapers but took the smaller sizes too and donated them to a battered womens shelter.

  • Catherine G

I purposefully pause my printer and then only “actually” print the ones that I plan to use… it helps save ink and sometimes the sale is weeks away.

  • Catherine G

Internet prints run out so frequently that its necessary!!

  • Tia

Well, when my daughter is out of school, with her degree, she better manage her money better than she does now. I can’t really afford to send her money, but I won’t let her starve either.
And she’ll have NO excuse not to get great deals because she just got a job with Walmart Corporate and is interviewing with Target Corporate. She interned with Walmart this summer and they taught her that couponers are evil. She asked me how I feel about stealing money from the companies… :(

  • Tia

I really wish I had thought of that. I could have gotten free Dial yesterday :( I won’t forget next time though hehe!

  • Catherine G

Here are some things to plan for –
Wags week of 9/25 colgate optic white toothpaste 4 oz 2/$7.98 with $6 RR = 1.98
    Use 2 $1.50 off coupons 9/11 SS and its a $1.02MM

  • Diana

Catherine, you are a well of wonderful ideas to save! I think I’ll visit often! Now if I could just figure out how to throw my change in! :)

  • Tia

I’m clipping and organizing the rest of these coupons while we get through this. I need to get the rest of these organized before my next shopping trip. But it’s been delayed this week until Thursday because of daughter needing money.

  • Tia

Catherine, how do you find those things out?!

  • Catherine G

Also at Wags – same week 9/25 Balance Bar cookie dough/yogurt honey peanut butter is $1.59 get $1.59 RR = Free!! But wait!! Use the .55 coupon from 9/11 SS and its a $.55 money maker

  • Diana

I feel like I’ve written so many good ideas down from these posts! It’s been wonderful!

  • Catherine G

I get the ads from the manager at my wags :) 2 weeks in advance most of the time

  • Tia

    OMG Brilliant! YAY!
    Yes Diana, I agree!

  • Catherine G

Diana you can always email me to bounce idea off…
I can send you the advance deals if you want them too… Im kind of OCD about it

  • Tia

I wish I had it in that good with my manager hehe

  • Catherine G

CVS has Thermacare 1ct lower back and hip heat wrap for $3.79 get $3.79 ECB the same week of 9/25

  • Catherine G

Also at CVS Excedrin Extra Strength, PM or Migrane 8ct for $0.99 with $0.99 ECB FREE!!

  • Catherine G

Anyone that uses Re-Nu sensitive contact solution – is free that week at both CVS and WAGs after a $2 coupon http://www.renu.com/coupons.html

  • Tia

I wish we had CVS or the other places close by :(

  • Catherine G

Its rumored that the Sept All you has a coupons for $1.50/1 M&M candies… does anyone have this?

  • Tia

omg ty ty ty! We do need contact solution!

  • Catherine G

Im a lip gloss addict and CVS has it on sale this weekend – after coupon its $0.49!!! Stocking stuffers for the older girls and stock for me!!

  • Diana

You’re awesome Catherine! I’m at silly.lil.d@gmail.com. I just went back and noted yours. ;) Not that I have much to offer, sounds like you’re all set in the savings department but if you ever need extra q’s, let me know. I’ll work on the box tops thing too! ;) Thanks!

  • Catherine G

Tia I dont use it but would be happy to print the coupon and send it to you so that you could stock up. If you want it email me at adimeandanickel@yahoo.com :)

  • Diana

I don’t get the All You mag but I have lots of the $1/1 M&M Pretzels q’s.

  • Jenette

Just bought some new photo inserts for my coupon binder!

  • Diana

I’ll print and mail it too! Great idea! Feel free to let me know if you’d like it…. silly.lil.d@gmail.com.

  • Tia

Catherine, that would be awesome! I will send it to you from FrugalWifey@Charter.net. Please send yours back in return and I will send you some box tops. I saw that my Avery dividers actually even had some and I was wondering what I was going to do with them :) Thanks!

  • Diana

They have a “fresh” or a “sensitive” option.

  • Tia

You guys have no clue how thankful I am for that! YAY!

  • Jenette

I bought a new accordion folder to keep my weekly inserts in. They will be divided up by type (smart source, p&g, etc) and in order by date… so if I need to go back and clip another couopn they will be easy to find!

  • Tia

    fresh is fine. TY!

  • Jenette

now I need to find a slice… great idea!

  • Tia

I sent emails to both of you. Thank you so so much!

  • Keely

I really need to get a binder- my small organizer takes too long to go through!

  • Diana

Awesome! I just printed the Fresh and they’re on their way! Don’t you love that you can hit the Back button and print them twice?!?!?!?!

  • Keely

Wow, some of you have been on here all day!

  • Glen F.

    Did I win yet?

  • Jenette

I used to keep all my coupons in an accordion folder, but have found that the binder system is SO much better organized and easier to use for me. love it

  • Catherine G

I have a mini accordion folder that I keep in my purse with all of my ECB and RR and UPS as well as coupons Im always looking for deals on…. Its not a perfect system but it helps me a little

  • Tia

Keely, try at Walmart. They are $10-$15 right now for back to school. Wait a week and they may go down even further! Just keep checking!

  • Jenette

3 ring binder, photo and baseball card inserts and tabbed separators is how i roll.

  • Catherine G

Sadly while we were posting – I have been organizing out of guilt :) At least they are in date order now

  • Keely

Thanks Tia, I’ll check that out.

  • Catherine G

Target has school supplies at 75% off in VA hope its elsewhere too

  • Jenette

    it’s all about organization! :)

  • Tia

I do Diana! I put them in my queue until I can get some ink :) YAY!

  • Keely

Do you organize by dates or by catergory?

  • Glen F.

    I’ll just keep trying. :-)

  • Catherine G

Since my binder is too full – I think im going to separate by grocery and non – and keep them in two sep binders.

  • Keely

I like to organize by category buy often overlook some and they expire before I get to use them.

  • Jenette

if you’re coupons aren’t organized then you may forget you have some or they may expire before you get to them. Can you tell I like an organized coupon binder?! ;)

  • Catherine G

Hadnt thought about photo sleeves – what a great idea – now I have a third type to seek out and put in my binder!! Thanks

  • Tia

I haven’t seen anything at our target yet. So it would be good to check there, too.

  • Tia

    yes organization is key!

  • Glen F.

    Once more.

  • Catherine G

Im going to start putting them in the same order that the aisles are in my stores

  • Tia

I think I need to get the 3 pocket currency. I have 4 pocket, but I need 3 also LMAO!!!!

  • Jenette

organizing by category helps a TON! if you need something from the frezer section in the store just flip to the freezer section of the coupon binder! so great!

  • Keely

I am getting excited to get a binder now.

  • Tia

    Oh! Photo Sleeves! Yes!

  • Catherine G

I also think im going to look into the guillotine – great idea

  • Glen F.

    Did I win?

  • Keely

I love cutting coupons- I get some much more for the money.

  • Glen F.

    Last time. :-)

  • Keely

I don’t see too many people with binders, but it’s such a great idea.

  • Tia

    COUPONS!

  • Jenette

    get organized! woohoo!

  • Keely

The only drawback with a binder is having that along with 3 kiddos.

  • Keely

I hope to get a binder and organize my coupons soon!

  • Keely

Doesn’ t the comment have to be about how we organize though?

  • Keely

I have a small organizer but hope to be using a binder soon:)

  • Tia

WOOT! I got it! YAY! Now I can get some ink!

  • Tia

Thanks guys. I missed it by one on the 400 one LOL

  • Diana

Good question. We’ve been posting about how we organize since the 200′s. hahaha. I hope you won it Tia!!!

  • Tia

Keely, I found that the binder is so much more convenient. It saves more money because you have it all right there in front of you and don’t have to rifle through a whole stack :)

  • Tia

Glad you won it on the other one, Diana. I wish we all could get it like the $20 Target one they had before.

  • Diana

:) Thanks Tia! I like these kind of giveaways, they’re fun and they end up being pretty informative. by the way, the Re-Nu q’s don’t expire until 12/15/11 so that’s great! :)

  • Holly M

Yay Tia and Diana! Happy for you guys!! :) Fun chatting with you all, too. BTW, the movie was fun! :)

My coupon binder changes. i first go through inserts and porstit notes what i would use them if there is enough i have a card table set up in my garage with little white baskets and each coupon i would use has its own basket. as I head out the door to with my list i select the coupons and go.
    this works for me
doesn’t take up any more time then trying to go through inserts to find the coupons also this lets me know if I used all of a certain coupon or not.

  • angela

I am fairly new to couponing and just watched your video, and it helped so much! Thank you! I have been doing things all wrong… filing my inserts and not clipping *gasp*. It is not working for me, especially because my coupon inserts contain different coupons than the inserts from the websites I am using to do match-ups. So I think I have to breakdown and shell out for a binder, so I have some questions. Is it best to organize by like items, or by brand when using the baseball card plastic sheets? For example, are all deodorant coupons in one slot or do you break them up where each brand has it’s own slot. If its the later, how many of those sheets would one need? I suppose quite a lot! Also, do you use the back side slot of the sheets? That’s all for now, Thanks!

  • ria

i never used a binder before- i suppose i should if i really want to organize my coupons- and lord knows they need organizing

  • shannon

I am jsut started my coupon binder and i was wondering where can i find the baseball card sleeves holders? i try walmart and staples but i havent had any luck of finding them

  • Shannon

I’m so glad I found this tutorial! I created a coupon binder a while back, but it wasn’t working for me. I’ve been trying to decide if I needed to do the coupon box instead of a binder, but decided that I would be defeating the purpose of couponing if I spent more money to organize. Anyway, I love the way you categorize. That is my style and exactly what I needed. I just needed a little help figuring it out. Thanks!

And for the other Shannon above, check by the registers at your Wal-mart. That is where they keep them at mine. They are with all the Pokemon, football and baseball cards.

  • lauren

where can i purchase a slicer tool to cut out my coupons?

  • Kym

I am brand new to couponing and your site is very helpful! I recently started school again and am having to pay out of pocket so I need to save as much money as possible and this will really help my family save money! I do not have a any system at all in place, but now after watching your video I will get started on one tomorrow! How do I go about getting one of those slicers? They look easy to use and I definitely need one. Thanks for all of your tips I greatly appreciate all of your help :)

  • Lee Weyer

I tried to clip an put all the coupons in 9 pocket sheets but I got lost in do I put each one in there own pocket or do I put several in a one pocket and also I am a little slow on what goes with what in store isles cause I am used to shopping at Sav A Lot which has no organization LOL. Do you have a detailed list of how you put them in your binder? Thanks so much for taking the time to do this for us. I would not have been able and will not be able to survive without couponing. Our income changed for the worse and that is what got me started in couponing!!! Lee

  • Cindy

WOW, the last 6 or so post on here make no sense at all. Have you been hijacked?

  • Emmes

I separate my 6-8 inserts and sort them by page, then go through and put a staple (or 2) into each coupon, being careful not to staple the bar code, on both sides of the pages of “like” inserts, then cut them out with scissors. This keeps me from partially cutting off a bar code or expiration date and my coupons have clean edges – making them easily slide into my binder (baseball card) slots. I think having several different sizes of the sleeves helps, too!

I can’t watch the video at work, but I’ll be sure to watch tonight at home!! I love CCD and look forward to seeing the deals you post in my email inbox every day! Thanks so much for all you do for the “fledgeling” couponers and coupon veterans!

  • Lauren Barber

Awesome video. Very helpful! Only question is… if you file all your coupons according to isle do you find that all stores carry same stuff on same isles? I have never really noticed…. It’s late for me and kids are screaming so this may be a very “duh” question. sorry

  • Candi
