Extreme Couponing at Kmart: Step-By-Step

UPDATE: I got the following question “If it is AFTER coupons, how does using the $10/$10 on the second transaction bring it down below $30?”  ANSWER: Catalinas and CRT’s appear not to count in the total, because I did a 3rd transaction, and my total was $23 after the $10/$10, and yep, another $10/$10 printed!  IT IS ROLLING YA’LL Wa-hooo!

Extreme Couponing at Kmart – done ethically, and this deal can be done cheaply without coupons if you’re new and don’t have any!

First, let me start off by saying that we did an impluse-buy last Friday – see the puppy in the picture?!?! Her name is Sophie and some kids were selling her at Macey’s Grocery Store and she was too cute, we had to get her!

So I bought some Pup-peroni, it was $5/2, and I had a $2/2 coupon from 2 08/14 RP, and a $1 off my next Kmart purchase catalina printed! Notice in the picture below it looks different then the $10/$10 coupon, I wanted you to see the difference between a catalina and a CRT (Kmart Cash Register Tape) coupon. Also, it is hard to see everything I bought in the picture above, there’s more even behind the tp’s!

So anyways, I learned something new at Kmart! Their coupon CRT’s have a rule where the deal must be over the specified amount, in this case $30, AFTER all coupons are calculated and BEFORE tax is calculated. So my scenario went like this:

Swipe your Shop Your Way Rewards Card always – first!
Buy 7 Angel Soft 24 Regular Rolls or 12 Double Rolls Toilet Paper*, $4.99 each
Use (7) $0.50/1 Angel Soft Bath Tissue, exp. 11/14/11 (RP 08/14/11 R)
OR (3) $1/2 Angel Soft Bath Tissue, exp. 11/14/11 (RP 08/14/11)
Pay:  $31.43 AFTER coupons (I tried this, coupon only prints if $30 is AFTER coupons.  This appears to be different then their catalina promos)
Get: $10 Coupon**
Final Price= $21.43 for 168 rolls of TP, or $.13 per roll  *Stock Up Price!*

*There are 12 double rolls packs that say “20% more” on them, = to 28 rolls per pack (shown in picture above) but the UPC’s for these aren’t setup correctly in the system and if you buy these, you will have to tell the manager to give you a $10 Kmart Gift Card because the coupons aren’t printing, even though these are included. This was the case for me, they said by Monday it hopefully is updated in the system.

**This is a $10/$10 coupon useable on anything on the store.  It is not a catalina; it prints on CRT (cash register tape – see picture below) it does not print off the catalina machine! *Note, this is a rolling coupon  

***I actually used my $5 scrubbing bubbles catalina from last week’s deals list I posted, so my OOP was even lower. I always save my catalinas to pay the least OOP on the next week’s deal! Keep in mind, like at Walgreens, if you use a previous cat to pay you’ll need a filler item!

Transaction #2:

Buy 4 Sparkle 8 Rolls Paper Towels, $4.99 each
Buy 1 Brawny 3 pack Mega Rolls Paper Towels, $4.99 (I could have bought 5 Sparkles, but Iwanted to try out these Brawny paper towels and see how good they are!)
Buy 2 Purex Crystals Fabric Softner 32 loads, $4 each
Use 2 $1/1 Purex Crystals Printable (One per facebook account/computer I used mine & my husbands)
OR Use 1 $0.50/1 Brawny Paper Towels, exp. 11/15/11 (RP 08/14/11 R)  
Pay: $30.95 (make sure your total is over $30 AFTER all coupons are scanned!!!) (+ use $10 coupon/Gift Card from Transaction #1) = $20.95 OOP
Get: Another $10 Coupon
Final Price= $20.95 for 2 Purex Crystals & 40 rolls of Paper Towels!  (you don’t calculate the $10 you use from Transaction #1 in savings because you already calculated that in the savings for the first one. )

VERY Important: The $10/$10 coupon lasts for two weeks. So don’t waste it, checkout my site as I show you a deal to “roll” that catalina on for next week’s deal scenarios!  Nearly every week lately Kmart has had some extreme catalina/coupon deals, so keep your Kmart coupons for next week to lower your OOP!
