Walgreen’s transactions and scenarios can score you some cuckoo deals! Each week we will lay out  a step-by-step plan to try to have you only spending $5 OOP each week!

Learn the Coupon Lingo if any verbage below confuses you!

Learn how to shop at Walgreen’s if you’re new around here!  RR’s will not be tied to your rain checks!  Note:  from a reader “I live in the Kansas City area and some on the items we get points to use for RR opposed to getting the rewards right then and there.” So check your ad in the store to make sure it’s the same as the deals posted.  There may be other areas of the country that have the small ad and they have less deals.  The small ad is 6-8 pages and the long one is 12+ pages.

I was so excited to learn that Balance Rewards points can be used toward deals that earn RRs and you will still get the RRs AND you can use RRs on deals that earn Balance Rewards points and still earn Balance Rewards points! These transactions will now include BOTH Balance Reward deals and RR deals, in order to maximize value and savings! Remember, there is no “per transaction limit” for earning points, but Register Reward deals are still ONE per transaction. Balance Rewards points will be listed as BR points and vary in value depending on how/when you choose to redeem them (see table below).

If you choose to redeem your BR points for smaller dollar amounts, they aren’t worth as much. But, if you save them up and redeem them for larger dollar amounts, they are worth more. So, you’ll see a value “range” when you earn BR points in these transactions.
When redeeming your BR points, you may be presented with the option to redeem more points than your transaction is actually worth – so always choose a BR point redemption value that is exactly equal to or less than the dollar amount owed on your purchase. For example, if I have 18,000 BR points (worth $20.00) in my account and my total after coupons is $13.00, and I choose to pay with my BR points, I will be presented with the following options:
1. $13.00 for 18,000 Balance Reward Points
2. $10.00 for 10,000 Balance Reward Points
3. $5.00 for 5,000 Balance Reward Points
I should DEFINITELY choose Option 2 and pay $3.00 OOP. If I had chosen Option 1, I would not owe anything OOP, however, I would use up all 18,000 BR points, which is actually worth $20. So, I would have essentially forfeited $7.00!!! Paying $3.00 OOP is a much better idea!
I’ve included some Scenarios for those of you that earned RRs and BR points last week, so you can roll both.
