Here’s part 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 if you are new to the Wanna Be A Blogger series.

This will probably be my shortest post in this series.   Linking is so simple, yet so many newbie bloggers make the mistake of linking incorrectly. Make sure to link correctly.

Which is correct?

  1. Go here for a Hot Fritos Printable coupon
  2. Hot Fritos Printable coupon
  3. Hot Fritos Printable coupon, click here

Option 2 is correct.  When linking to anything, you should have the link include the name of what you are linking to.  This way, Google and other search engines rank you and the site you are linking to higher for the words in the link.

You certainly don’t want to be ranked high for “here” or “click here”.  No one searches those terms!  Infact, don’t even include those terms in your posts ever, because they sound advertise-y and probably will hurt you.

I am loving these posts on blogging- this helps so much. I have 2 questions about some stuff I am running into as a newbie blogger- How did you come up with your name? I know you said to register all the domain names once you have a name, but I have literally been thinking for months about the name for my blog/website, because that’s it once you have it, and so I just wanted it to be creative, and I didnt know if you could share any tips?

ALSO……. do you have any tips on starting a coupon class?? I in the process of trying to create a coupon class along with my website. I am very good at couponing, and I have been asked by numerous family members and people at church to do something like that, but didn’t know if you had any tips on how to start one- like what we would need to put together and if we have to be a “legal business” to host a class or if there were any legalities that you were aware of. Thank you for these post- :)

I do not think you need to have a business license to teach free information coupon classes. As for the name, well I actually made a mistake when I made mine. You should choose a short name. Easier for people to remember.
