One of my favorite things about being a “couponer” is I don’t have to go shopping on the weeks when I need to spend bucks elsewhere.  This was one of those weeks.  I got a few deals at Rite Aid, but nothing worth doing a “Guess What I Spent & Saved” Saturday on.

Do you have any shopping pictures you’d like to have featured? I have some great free coupons I’d love to give out today, so if you went shopping this week and took a picture, or even if you are going later today, email them along with what you spent and saved to me at: Deidre @ cuckooforcoupondeals DOT com (replace DOT with a .  – this is for spambot purposes – never type in your email address online or in a comment because spambots pick them up and email you garbage).  Then I’ll post it up to see if anyone can guess and win those coupons!

You can always show off your pictures on my Facebook Page, just click on Photos and it will allow you to upload your pictures and type in a message about them.   This is a fun way to show off your shopping trips if you don’t have time etc… to run your own deal blog 🙂

P.S. Remember my giveaway I am doing for the $50 Safeway gift card My husband has the most sent & accepted so far, but of course he doesn’t count.  So Morgan Rayl is winning so far with 20 Invitations Sent and 2 Accepted. So you aren’t too late – you could easily win the $50 Safeway Gift Card! Just go here and invite your friends to become a fan of Cuckoo For Coupon Deals on Facebook using the new Suggest This tab!

UPDATE: No one guessed within $5, so here’s what I spent & saved:

spent: $83.80 (should have been $4 less but I miscalculated one of my buy 8 get $4 off and only bought 7!)
saved: $173.51

I went to Smiths and Rite Aid this morning.  Lookout for Spring Savings coupon booklets at Smith’s  – they had coupons for $1/1 Wheaties Fuel and $1/1 Chocolate Cheerios!

Whoever first guesses what I spent OOP (within $5) wins a coupon for free Orr-Wich Sandwich Thins + random coupons I send with it.

Whoever first guesses what I saved (within $5) wins a coupon for free Heluva Good Cheese or Dip+ random coupons I send with it.

I just wanted to let everyone know that at Rite Aid Huggies Mega Packs are still buy 1 get 1 half off, until tonight anyways, so with 2 $3/1 Huggies coupons from here, you get a great deal!  Also in your calculations keep in mind that I got I paid OOP $10 for a prescription, then got a $25 gift card which I used for the sweet Huggies deal and a few other things shown.

P.S. My husband is picky with his steaks and — groan— I had to pay full price.  Grilling season kills me; he won’t eat frozen meat either!  But without him this shopping trip wouldn’t have been possible – he watched our daughter the whole time so that I could concentrate. Not taking kids shopping is worth paying a little extra in steak it saves me so much headache!

If there are no winners by Monday morning I’ll just tell ya and hold on to the coupons for next time.

Limit one guess for saved and one for spent per person please.

Thanks to our reader Virginia for sharing her great deals she got at CVS and Walgreens, all for only $26.00!  Everyone can do this; it’s not just talk or some crazy scheme, as I recently read a critic say it was. I know it has blessed my life tremendously.

Want to post pictures of your shopping trips? If any other readers want to share pictures of their great shopping trips or details about their deal finds, you can post them on my facebook page here. Thanks Virginia!

For our Fresh Market and Macey’s coupon match-ups you can click on items you plan to buy, and then create a printable shopping list.  We received emails stating that there were large gaps on the page that prints out with different browsers.  This has been fixed.  Please email us any more suggestions for our new printable shopping list and/or other stores you would like printable shopping lists for.

Coming soon: ability to type directly onto your list before you print it out to add items not found on the match-ups, i.e., type in “pick up milk and see what their price for baking soda is”

Total for this week: I paid $69.00 for $101.99 worth of groceries; I saved: $32.99 (I am disappointed)

I am doing a new thing where at the end of the week I show all that I spent for the week. This way at the end of the month I can see how much money I am spending monthly.  I have  a family of 4, so anything under $100 per week for all food, drinks, eating out, toiletries, haircare products, diapers and baby formula is my goal. I have 2 kids in diapers, so this may sound ambitious but I accomplished it this week!

Here is my second weekly review:

rqandom

My Dollar Tree Shopping Trip Dec. 7: $9.61

P1010005

My Walmart Shopping Trip Dec. 9: Saved $25.69

all

K-mart Shopping Trip Dec. 10: Saved $7.30

My K-mart shopping trip Dec. 12: 4 “D” batteries & Starburst for $7.49 (boo me, I didn’t even take my coupon binder with me! I wouldn’t have bought these not-on-sale but I needed them right then.)

Total for this week:

PAID: $69.00

SAVED: $32.99 (I didn’t count any saving from my Dollar Tree trip because I have no idea how much I saved on my makeup, probably $10)

Plus, I spent over $37 on Christmas presents, only saving $10 on them.  Pretty weak compared to my big savings last week!

Wow, have you activated your December UPromise eCoupons yet? 42 new coupons worth $48.55.

Here’s how eCoupons work: You login to UPromise.com and click on “coupons & deals” then “Grocery eCoupons”.  Then you select ALL the eCoupons.  Make sure to type in your rewards card #’s for Smiths, Albertsons, and more. Once you do that you won’t ever have to do it again. That’s it. When you go shopping and swipe your members card, your eCoupons will register to your UPromise account and you can use that money for your children’s college.  I have my Debit card added as well so if I am shopping at other places I can get rewards using it as well.

Really, I don’t bother matching these eCoupons up to sales because I just activate them all in about 1 minute and if I happen to shop at Smith’s or Albertson’s when I swipe my card I just automatically get those savings in my daughter’s college account.  Sometimes I use a lot; sometimes none. Never hurts to have them activated though!

There are some hot ones this month, including $5 for 2 Similac Baby Formulas,  $1 off Nestle Chocolate, $.75 for Little Debbie (combine this with the $.75 on coupons.com right now or the FREE coupon they recently sent their Facebook fans in the mail.)
